Hossa could be back in the lineup by Sunday.

Bolland practiced Thursday but was held out today. He's out for tomorrow but it sounds like his return isn't that far either. Stay healthy, please.

I'm not exactly at the apex of perspicacity or attention span right now -- stupid IU football (and beer/tailgating) -- but this third period has been bo-ring.

Hope Morin is OK.

They started to dominate for a few minutes there and really should have scored at least one. Pavelec has made some great saves.

I always wondered why teams from different conferences that are playing each other don't just give up the last 3-4 minutes of a tied game in a mutual agreement to gain a point and go to overtime. Maybe teams would prefer not play have the game decided in 4 on 4 or possibly a shootout, but still. It's basically a free point aded to the game. Normally there are 2 points for the taking in a game but if you get it to OT theres 3 points now available.

I'd be happy with where the standings were right now if all the teams that matter in our division didn't have at least 5 games in hand on us.

yeah i always think that too. i know it'll never happen, but every time the hawks are in that situation i wish the 2 coaches would look at each other and give some sort of secret signal to agree to tell their players not to score.

I'm surprised at these Atlanta announcers -- they are actually pretty decent.

I noted this as well when I was in Atlanta awhile back

i didnt like how they kept talking about how much pavelec deserved the win even though he gave up 4 goals and one of them was a result of a horrible mental mistake by him. he did play well in the 3rd and OT, but they'd have won if they got decent overall goaltending tonight.

When OT was first brought in there was a lot of fear of this happening.

Athletes are competitors. Nobody is bigger than the game. As Herm Edwards said, you play to WIN the game ... HELLO!

Hate to burst Herms bubble, but there were many teams who were playing "not to lose" at end of tied games. This is one of the reasons OT was added.

Khabi back in net at the UC tonight. He's sure had a rough go of it since he left Chicago.

He was also in net last week when they played in Chicago and the oilers killed us. But yes it's always nice to see an old friend.

I was out of town and only caught the score. Just seems like years ago when he was in net for the Hawks, when it was only 18 months ago.

Glad to see Hossa back tonight. And I know someone said this the other day, but I'm on board too. Really starting to like Stalberg, especially how he plays in the defensive zone.

Scott is pretty useless out there, but he just rearranged Stortini's face for him. Wow.

That was awesome. Might have been the first somewhat useful thing he's done this season.
