Champaign bound this weekend. It's going to be odd rooting against Illinois, but I'm expecting us to give them a game and then some. Sagarin has Illinois ranked 87th and SIU 88th. It's a winnable game (especially with the Illinois defense being banged up) but the lack of depth is probably going to end up costing us at the end.

On that same note, I'll never understand it why I-A teams schedule the better I-AA teams in the country.

Wish I could be there to chant "McNeese is not a State" at them. Wait, I can just do that next week against San Diego State.

Looking forward to watching more than a few hours of games this weekend.

They CAN'T lose this weeked to SIU. Not after coming so close against Mizzou, and not to start off the year 0-2 before even starting their conference schedule. They need to figure it out and just get the damn job done.

So there's no prime time ABC game this week?

Pretty dumb not to put the Miami @ OSU game at 8 EST on ABC, IMO. The Shoe is awesome at night plus there's already a glut of great games at 3:30 EST.

ABC has a contract to show the NASCAR race that night which is why there is no prime time game.

Why would you enter into that contract if you're ABC? It's not like it's a surprise that there's college football going on the 2nd weekend in September

they also have PSU/Bama on ESPN, so why compete against themselves?

They do that every week.

My guess is that, sadly, the ratings for late season NASCAR and early season college football are closer than we'd like.

Although they're doing it again in mid-October? diaf NASCAR

Really weird on this particular weekend. Is it just me, or has the 2nd weekend of the season usually been a pretty good week for pre-conference matchups? Seems like if there is a big game out of conference (OSU and its run at USC, Texas, or Miami, etc) it's been this week.
