Revis and the Jets apparently agreed to a deal in principle. It will make him the highest paid defensive player ever, per ESPN.

ridiculous

Every time a new stud comes on the market (or holds out I guess) he becomes the highest paid X player ever. I don't think it means all that much.

I really want to hate the Jets, but after watching Hard Knocks I can't. The whole organization is kind of full of meat heads but they're honest, funny and likable.

Except Sanchez. He's a douche.

it's ridiculous because he's not THAT good. he just got a ton of media hype last year and has parlayed into a huge payday, but it's not like he's going to win 3 games for them

Is he worth 3 games? Who knows, but Revis is THAT good. You obviously need a great team to win. While Revis didn't let a receiver he was covering get 100 yards last year (and he played against the best of the best), Manning picked apart the rest of the Jets' secondary en route to winning the AFC Championship even though Revis' man was shut down.

Actually he is that good. He's definitely the best CB in the league. I can't quantify that into games won, but he's been a stud since his rookie year and has only gotten better.

Yeah, he's really good and considering how much Rex Ryan loves to blitz (IIRC, they blitzed on a far higher percentage of plays than any other team), he's really important.

My predictions:

AFC East- NY Jets, Miami*, New England, Buffalo

AFC South- Indianapolis, Tennessee*, Houston, Jacksonville

AFC North- Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Cleveland

AFC West- San Diego, Oakland, Kansas City, Denver

NFC East- Dallas, Philadelphia, Washington, NY Giants

NFC South- New Orleans, Atlanta*, Carolina, Tampa Bay

NFC North- Green Bay, Minnesota*, Chicago, Detroit

NFC West- San Francisco, Arizona, Seattle, St. Louis

Playoffs:

Wildcard round- Jets over Dolphins, Titans over Chargers; Cowboys over Falcons, Vikings over 49ers

Divisional round- Ravens over Jets, Colts over Titans; Packers over Vikings, Cowboys over Saints

Championships- Ravens over Colts, Packers over Cowboys.

Super Bowl- Ravens over Packers.

I could definitely see this happening. New England's D is going to be awful.

I also think the Saints will lose their division and maybe even miss the playoffs, but that's probably just sour grapes.

I think Atlanta's going to win that division this year and that's not sour grapes at all, from my end.

If I missed it im sorry but is there going to be a NSBB pick em league again?
Sorry I forgot to post the information before. Group ID 28051; password fitzgerald (the commissioner lives in Arizona and is a Cardinals fan). This isn't a league just for NSBB members; the commissioner is in some other fantasy baseball and football leagues I'm in. Those who participated last year should have received an invite when the commissioner renewed the league for this year.

Also, if anybody is interested in Survival Football but didn't see the thread in Fantasy Sports the group ID is 4608 and the password is cutler.

I don't know about the 3 games thing but he definitely is *that* good. He's been arguably the best defensive player in football the past two seasons.

The Titans waived LeGarrette Blount hoping he'd clear waivers so they could put him on the practice squad. Not surprisingly, he did not clear waivers. The Bucs picked him up.

On the good side, however, the Titans also picked up linebacker and very good special teams player Tim Shaw. That was a good move.

I'm wondering why I'm not seeing Bruschi and others ranting about how desperate the Jets must be to have their head coach and owner fly down to meet with a player and beg him to come back to camp.

NFC West- San Francisco, Arizona, Seattle, St. Louis

This might be the first seven-win division champion. And Seattle is awful the same way the Rams were awful last season. Hollowed out roster with zero playmakers on either side of the ball.

It's becoming the thing to do.

Send people down and stroke the ego, kiss the butay, whatever. Buy the guy something and tell him how much you love him, I don't know. Vikes did it with Favre, now the Jets with Revis. Probably other cases out there.

Seems silly to me, but then those teams that do it have experienced success with those players, so whatever puts wins up on the board.........that's what gets done.

The Revis story and Favre story are not at all similar. Favre was just doing what he does, avoiding training camp and getting attention. Revis was negotiating for his financial future. Teams send down the big guns when negotiations come to a head, it happens all the time.

Wow, that is a huge overstatement on Seattle. They are nowhere near as bad as the Rams last year. You have Trufant, Thomas, Tatpu, Curry all playmakers on the defense. Hasselback is still better than any QB in the division and likely better than most in the NFC
