You know, just when this team starts to look like they're putting together something, they pull this [expletive]. It's happened so much already this year. They snap off a few in a row and then lose in absolutely embarrassing fashion.

How is down by one run on the road against their best pitcher "embarrassing fashion"? I know its the Pirates but still.

Paul Malholm is [expletive] terrible and we've been leaving runners everywhere.

yeah i just turned it on but from the boxscore it looks like a typical letdown 2010 game for the Cubs, just make a run you morons, and they keep doing it against the worst teams too (Reds, Astros, Nationals, now the Pirates)

its embarrassing, even if this team plays at a barely .500 level I'd prefer them just get swept by good teams and beat bad teams (thats not how baseball works obviously)

i would really despise giving a W to a pitcher that had 3 walks and 1 strike out

and giving an L to a guy with 7 Ks and 1 BB

How do you go up there 1st pitch swinging after seeing how wild Dotel is?

It's not always a bad idea if you are seeing the ball particularly well.

Please excuse my frustration, but can we [expletive] WIN A [expletive] GAME WHEN WE GET TO 500? [expletive]

What the hell are we going to do with Aramis? I still think he could snap out of this tomorrow, but this is really going on for awhile.

No. And I'd bet ten million dollars we're not going to win this series.

Still, that was probably the best contact Aramis has made in a week or so.

Cubs just couldn't overcome all-world talents like Paul Maholm, Andy LaRoche, Ryan Church and Octavio Dotel.

Brewers kicked the crap of the Pirates and yet the Cubs can only manage 2 runs....

More things change, more they stay the same.

I vote the 7 spot with Soto 5 and Fontenot 8. I know, or at least like to think he'll snap out of it, but for now, we wont be able to make it with a guy this bad in the 5 spot.

While they swept us at home, we took 2 of 3 from them last week in beertown.

I actually don't hate that.

WGN's video rest stop is oddly hypnotic.

I know the players have to execute, but I blame Lou for this loss. His ridiculous line up screws this team before they take the field. Would any manager really want Jeff Baker to get more at bats than Soriano when Soriano is on a hot streak? I could handle Nady 7th and Baker was 8th. The fact that both of those guys have a chance at more at bats than a guy with an OBP of almost .500 is criminal.
