If we complete the Rudy Fernandez trade my excitement for next season may reach "Can't miss a single game" levels rather than "if it's on and I'm not doing anything I'll watch + playoffs"

Rudy Fernandez does not warrant that sort of additional attention.

Yeah, he's pretty overrated and whines about playing time also.....something he'd probably not be getting a ton of if he came here.

I read that Portland wanted Taj Gibson and a 1st rounder for Rudy. Ha.

I'd take him, but no way in hell I'd give up Gibson.

I think people tend to overrate Taj Gibson a tad. Yeah he was a pretty competent player when we had a disastrous front court but remember this: He's not that young. He'll be 25 next season, so his career path isn't as promising as many might think it is.

Basically if the trade cost us James Johnson I'd do it but if it cost us Taj Gibson I'd at least think about it.

No but he's a nice piece for us to have off the bench, so he's pretty valuable to this particular team, which is why it's tough to trade him. Our frontcourt would be paper thin without Taj.

Still more promising than Rudy's I'd say. What does Rudy do besides shoot the three ball?

With Carlos Boozer a liability to stay healthy all season, I'd say having Taj Gibson on the roster is pretty important.

He had a sick dunk in the Gold Medal game.

Yeah, but it happens to be one of the things this team needs most. But yeah, like Raisin said, with Boozer's history of health issues, I don't think the Bulls can afford to trade Gibson.

Jeff Van Gundy thinks the Heat can break the Bulls regular season win record next season. [expletive] him.

honestly, i'm not too worried about it. i'm sure the 1996 bulls will be popping those champagne bottles somewhere around halfway through this season

Yeah, well he's wrong.

They can. They won't. But they can.

Brutal start to the year (again, thanks, circus trip), with their first 8 road games being OKC, Boston, Houston, San Antonio, Dallas, LA Lakers, Phoenix, and Denver, all in the first 4 weeks of the season. Then the circus trip ends, and they come home to Orlando, Houston, OKC and the LA Lakers again.

The end of the season is light, though. Of course, I fully expect the media to panic when the Bulls start out something like 4-10 this year.

EDIT: The plus side is that the Bulls are done with the Lakers, Thunder, Rockets and Nuggets 5 weeks into the year.

hasn't anyone thought to have the circus at the UC, oh, maybe the 2 weeks BEFORE the season starts?

I'm pretty sure its more of the Ringling Brothers forcing the UC to those dates than the UC telling them to come a different time. The Ringling Brothers circus has a schedule it locks in years in advance, so if the UC wants that payday they have to kick the Bulls and Hawks out a couple of weeks a year. Besides, they are going to a much better crowd holding these events in the Fall/Winter than in the dead of summer.

I don't know a single person who goes to the circus.

Nor do I but apparently they are out there.

Zah-Vee-A Henry still hasn't signed with the Grizzlies and is apparently being shopped.

Who wants to drive the dumpster truck full of blood money up to Memphis to pry him away?

no no no, bill self found henry while on safari in darkest africa, where he was being worshipped as a deity by the local bushmen. the bulls would have to control the magic talisman to be able to harness his power.
