There's nothing logical about it. The draft was intriguing because every fan of every team had a reason to hope that they could get better. This is a unique and ridiculous situation. Quit pretending to be the only enlightened one who understands what's going on here.

Okay, if the draft is okay because every team has a chance, then what are your feelings on televising the NBA draft lottery?

As long as the team with the lowest odds win on occasion, it makes some sense that many people will have interest. But free agency destinations are too easily reported in advance and almost always way too narrow in scope to make this sort of thing work. Everybody knew he was going to the Heat before he went to the heat. It was the novelty and Lebron's unique stature that made this appointment viewing (for idiots).

I just don't get this equation.

LeBron or some other agent tells a reporter, reporter runs onto TV to tell us = okay

LeBron tells a reporter on TV = not okay.

It would have been better if it hadn't leaked, and if he'd announced that he would do this from the beginning, instead of dragging free agency out for a few days, but otherwise, I thought it was great. And the huge ratings seem to agree with me. I honestly think it would be cool if they did this more often. What if the Blackhawks had gotten Hossa that way?

This rules, this whole situation is the best troll of the real world ever. I, personally, don't know if I like or dislike Lebron anymore but I at least admire how much of America he's pissed off in a week long media frenzy.

And the best thing is, even with the most concentrated talent in the league, it'll be very hard for them to not be disappointing. Oh I think they'll win a title or two in the 5 years they'll be together, but I don't see it happening next year, and I don't think they'll sweep all 5 titles. It'll be a debacle when they don't win next year, looooool

ESPN would rather show the 900th rerun of the 2009 World Series of Poker than "Marian Hossa: The Decision" Even Versus would probably show bull riding or something.

No one is watching Marian Hossa: The Decision. No one.

I'm assuming it'd be on TSN and I could stream it on channelsurfing.net or something.

Lots of crap gets huge ratings. That doesn't agree with you.

I actually meant to delete that sentence before I hit post. That point is fully conceded.

Wow...

Apparently Lebron and the Heat are trying to talk the Cavs into making Lebron a sign-and-trade according to Brian Windhorst.

They've convinced me. I think the Heat are on their way to dynasty. I think you're going to see a gravitation to that team of players who want a piece of what those 3 players have started building. Riley's at the helm of that ship -- it'll be humming along with a minimum of distraction and drama.

We'll see if I'm dead wrong. I concede that I could be.

Hahahahaha.

What would Miami give up? I think they have some sort of first-rounder from a likely lottery team.

NBA TV should give Dan Gilbert his own reality show, just to capture his response to things like this.

How does Pat Riley find pants to fit his ginormous balls?

I'm holding out hope that lots of ring chasers will see the value in not accepting less to play for Miami and playing for a team with a puncher's chance of knocking them out of the playoffs.

Hahaha, Boozer really knows how to grease these guys up, he just said Noah was a guy who scored 30 plus points and 20 plus rebounds in games and was also 7'2''

I'm thinking about adopting the Bulls as my team. It's either the Bulls or the Thunder.

Thunder. It's impossible not to love them.

Go with both.

This reminds me of when I was a little boy watching wrestling and watching Hulk Hogan turn into a bad guy. Its like LeBron just dropped a leg drop on all his fans and turned into a bad guy and joined the NWO (heat).

I e-mailed that to Bill Simmons earlier. I'm guessing 400 other people did too.

It's been referenced like 15 times in this thread alone. It's still perfect though. Pat Riley is a perfect Eric Bischoff too.
