Rondo's been atrocious the last two games, BTW. I mean it's good on the Celtics that they can still wax Orlando. The only way you think Rondo is one of the best PGs in the game is to look on his game in a vacuum. It's so much easier for him than it is for Nash, DWill, Rose, Paul, etc. to thrive.

To suggest that he has nearly the same responsibility on his shoulders as Rose does on the Bulls is borderline insane. The Bulls wouldn't be up 3-1 on any team in the NBA if Rose had 8, 9, and 11 points in three of the games, let alone the Magic.

For whatever reason, Rondo became afraid to shoot again. I don't quite know why.

The only way you can think Rose is a better player than Rondo is if you think offense is the only thing that matters. And even then, it's a lot closer than you want to paint it.

You have to watch the games man. Basketball stats just aren't there yet.

The Celtics can win a championship with Rondo merely being good. A guy like Nash or DWill has to play out of his mind just for their teams to compete with the Lakers.

Rondo is playing with the greatest off screen shooter in league history, a top 5 Celtic, and probably the best pick and roll defender of all time. It's just easier for him.

rondo's very good, but you guys can keep him.

Why are you pretending like it's me and Hollinger off on an island saying how good Rondo is. A decent minority of the Bulls fans on here think he's better than Rose, nearly every analyst thinks it, this isn't just blind homerism on my part.

Because I think the handful of Bulls fans that would say Rondo is better than Rose probably just look at the box score and see his incredible stat lines.

If they would watch the Celtics play they would probably be unfamiliar with their understanding of proper spacing, pick and roll execution, and long range marksmanship because they usually only watch Bulls games. And I'm not really just talking about Rose. I'm challenging the assertion that Rondo is in the same class as guys like Deron Williams, Chris Paul, and Steve Nash. I don't think he is. Those guys' teams can't win if they play bad and they can't compete with top teams unless they're spectacular. You can't say that about Rondo and the Celtics. Therein lies the difference.

I'm pretty sure that if you put Rose in Rondo's shoes (where he can be the 4th best players on the floor) he would have won a title in Boston too.

Which is why using championships in the debate is ridiculous

The only way you can think Rose isn't significantly better than Rondo offensively is if you are looking at Rose's overall numbers for last season and not what he did from mid-December on, once he was healthy. And he only got better and more efficient (while scoring more) as the season wore on.

And Rondo is really overrated defensively because of his steals and the way he gets to play (gamble) with his team's help defense.

I love how Rose torches him worse than he torches anybody else almost every time they play.

(And yes, I'm aware that Rondo has had some good games against Rose, but nobody here is calling Rose an elite defender)....

Stolen from RealGM

Rose's season tallies (78 games):

20.8 ppg (48.9 FG%)

6.0 apg

3.7 rpg

4.3 FTA

53.2 TS%

19.0 PER

Rose's stats once healthy (last 54 games):

22.7 ppg (50.6 FG%)

6.2 apg

4.1 rpg

4.8 FTA

55.0 TS%

21.0 PER

Rose's stats after the All-Star break, Orlando games included (last 27 games):

22.9 ppg (52.4 FG%)

6.5 apg

3.9 rpg

5.1 FTA

57.3 TS%

22.0 PER

Those TS% splits from after the injury and from the second half are freaking sexy.... Flirting with elite.

54 game span with a 55% TS and 27 with a 57.3%

Downplaying but not denying, which I found pretty curious.

Yeah...I didn't say I was buying it. In fact, I'm pretty excited about that idea.

This summer is setting up to be either a boom (ie Phil Jackson and at minimum Lebron James) or bust Lawrence Frank and at minimum Joe Johnson).

Apparently, there are several NBA GM's that are telling Chad Ford that the feeling around the league is that Lebron James is heading to Chicago.

Not to mention there are stories coming from front offices that Lebron James to Chicago is "all but a done deal."

Take it with a grain of salt like I am. If you interested (I'm sure guys like Sponge, UMFan, and Kyle might be since they go over there, periodically) there is a thread call "Bulls reached out to Jackson---page 7" and it gets good around page 12 or so. And man the Bulls fans in that thread were pissing off the one Knicks fan in that thread.

Just a heads up.

So, the Bulls are going to get LeBron James, Chris Bosh, Hedo Turkoglu, and be coached by Phil Jackson?

This is going to be the greatest offseason ever!

I think we'd still need to go after Ray Allen to really solidify our guards. Maybe Yao Ming would be willing to take the LLE and back up Noah as well.

Rose

Allen

James

Bosh

Noah

Pargo

Johnson

Turkoglu

Gibson

Ming

Also, the Bulls will really crack open the wallet to pay Jordan and Pippen to re-enact the "flu game" at the halftime of every home game next season.

Sarcasm is duly noted, GUYS, I thought it would interesting to talk about. Beside I put up "take it with a grain of salt" warning. I thought it would be fun, cause we have nothing else to talk about concerning the Bulls till June 20ish for the draft.
