Lou, did you see that? Jerry Manual broke the rule and let a lefty hit against a left handed pitcher.

Another thing, Wells only had 93 pitches. Quit babying him and send him back out there.

I am really torn. I don't want to see the Cubs have a bad season, but on the other hand I am sick of almost everything about this team, especially the manager. Then again, it doesn't matter. The names change but the results are the same.

I am glad the Cubs decided they didn't need another option at SS on the roster. I am loving watching Theriot everyday. Wait, shame on me for watching.

Seriously, I can only hope the Ricketts family has a clue. If Tom really believes in holding people accountable for results, I can't see how Piniella or Hendry survive if this teams continues to fail.

Cubs have outhit their opponents 25-23 over the 3-game losing streak. The Cubs have walked 8 times compared to the opponents 7 walks.

The difference? The Cubs spread their offense out over nine innings. The opponents get all theirs' when the bullpen comes in for the last 2 innings or so.

Tonight:

Batters faced:

Wells: 25 (1 R)

Russell: 4 (2 R)

Samardzija: 3 (3 R)

Simply pathetic. Good thing Lous lefty killer lineup came through. Just bring up Castro and trade Theriot for a good reliever. or a decent releiver. or a bad reliever. I really dont care anymore. Im sick of looking at the guy.

Marlon Byrd was the one bright spot, besides Wells being his usual solid self. Then again, it doesnt matter how often your lead off hitter gets on base when the rest of the "offense" cant do anything about it.

He RUNS to first after getting hit in the head! Is there anything not to like about this guy?

Bradley would have sued the pitcher, called Cubs fans racist, and inured himself on the way back to the dugout trying to kick the bat boy.

I do not care anymore. This team does not want to win, we know the GM can't build a winner, and the manager can manage a winner, just not with the Cubs. Not to mention 7/8ths of the lineup is more likely to decline then improve, and we have a payroll that would be the gross national income of several small countries.

This team isn't going anywhere. I hate this team.

Why all the Theriot hate? He's been worth 3 wins each of the last 2 seasons, while being paid next to nothing.

Because UZR is unreliable and that's where all his value was tied up in last year

In what way is UZR unreliable? I don't contend that it, or any other stat for that matter, is flawless. But I'mcurious as to exactly why you say it is "unreliable."

Theriot was worth 7.7 fielding RAA last season. Even if we knock that down to 0, he was worth 2 wins. If we bump it down to -5, he was worth 1.5 wins. From a guy who made a total of $900,000 over the last *2* seasons. Seems odd that he's the recipient of so much hate, but maybe it's a personality issue. I don't know much about the guy.
