  1. Inner Circle, Any stat number available for the percentage of times the Cubs have scored with a runner on 2nd and less than 2 outs? On a separate note, I dont think Clevenger has made contact with a curveball or slider on the outside corner yet this year...at least he's swinging at them though these days
  2. ...and then there were 0 pitchers with an ERA below 3.00 on the active roster.
  3. the cubs get the lead and dempster gives it right back up the next inning...never said that before #-o  [-X
  4. Why not throw the Shark in there? Gotta see what you have in him and if he can ever be a 8th inning kind of guy....sure looking like hes nothin but a 5th, 6th, 7th, or crap innings pitcher.
  5. Wow. Ramirez if the throw is bad, it's okay to leave the base to catch it.
  6. Minus his first start...Zambrano has pitched pretty well, considering his April career stats.
  7. If only we scored as many runs as ESPN catches Lou Piniella yawning tonight...2 thus far shooter.
  8. I will take Podsednik any day. He knows how to get on base. He knows how to move runners. He knows how to be a pest and steal bases. Our team stole 56 bases as a team last year. He hit .320 against lefties last year as well. Put him in the leadoff role and watch him do his thing. We've tried to be a home run team the past few years and it hasn't worked. Give me some speed in this lineup.
  9. who do you want as your Cubs CF next year of the 3?
  10. i love milton in the 2-hole. .327/.431/.509/.940. Don't get rid of him. I'd rather get rid of Fukudome then him.
  11. Well said. Since I didn't back up my last statement and was proven wrong, I will back up this guy with stats. This season: Man on 3rd, < 2 outs: .228/.238/.556 (4-18) 13 RBI's RISP: .205/.327/.398 (18-88) 31 RBI's Bases loaded: .143/.188/.357 (2-14) 8 RBI's When the bases are loaded and he steps to the plate I have just accepted the fact that the guy on 3rd isn't going to score. There's no reason to boo anymore, like Nick Friedell wrote on his blog yesterday, it's now an indifferent silence when I watch Soriano pop out to 2nd or strikeout with runners in scoring position. If only we could trade the Phillies outfield for our outfield (or the whole Phillies team for our team).
  12. Hate to tell you, but he didn't suck last year. he actually did suck last year minus 4 weeks of hot hitting. Ridiculous. what did he bat in the playoffs? 1-14....He really hits when it matters. Most of his home runs came when we were up or down by a bunch of runs.
