i think bobby cox always works the rooks in at the bottom of the order. So he can give them PT without people freaking out when they go 0-3 a couple times in a row. HMM, I WISH WE WOULD HAVE THOUGHT OF THAT.

The whole Pie and Patterson fiascos really make me mad when i think about them. They should be case studies for every organization on how NOT to handle rookie development at the ML level.

i wouldn't really mind if he sucks and gets sent down relatively soon because i think he still has things to work on at the minor league level. pie was a different situation because he beat up AAA pitching every time he was down there; what he needed was a manager who wasn't a spaz and would stick with a young guy who struggles for more than three games.
