How many teams have had wins taken away over the past 20 years? How many were coached by Cal?

Who gives a s**t about vacated wins. It's so meaningless.

yeah, i guess you're right. national championships mean nothing the second after they're won.

I'd be willing to bet that if Chalmers would've missed that three, those wins wouldn't have been taken away. Go to hell Mario Chalmers by the way.

Well that makes it ok then. The 2008 Championship game was the high ground when it came to squeaky clean programs, no doubt about it.

Jeff Jordan to transfer from UofI: http://www.312sports.com/college-sports/university-of-illinois/171-basketball/1533-jordan-to-transfer

(that's the official press release from the university)

He was working out with UCF(Marcus's team) a few days ago. Still seems strange though. He's smart enough to get an academic scholarship at U of I and was a year away from graduating. I guess it doesn't matter where your degree is from when you're going to work for Nike for the rest of your life, but still.

That is weird. I guess this means Bruce won't be tempted to use him next season.

It's not really weird. He would have been about the sixth or seventh guard on the depth chart.

But he doesn't seem that interested in basketball and has 1 year of eligibility left. What's the point?

(Countdown to Ping saying Illinois is forcing him off the team to make room)

Just a year ago he said he was leaving the team to focus on studies, now he's transferring schools? It's a little weird.

It's not weird that a guy who is less than 12 months from graduation and gave up basketball a year ago to focus on education is transferring schools?

Oh man, he's pry in big trouble if his family has to pay for an extra year of school or two. Come on he's rich beyond his wildest dreams and has a career at Nike waiting for him whenever he decides to take it.

Of course financially there's no concern. It's just a bit strange that a kid who decided to give up basketball a year ago but wanted to stay in school at Illinois is now deciding he wants to transfer to play and finish school elsewhere when he has only one year left.

I'm not trying to act like it's something fishy and 21 year old kids tend to change their minds. Maybe he just really wants more playing time before he hangs it up. Surprising is probably a better term than weird or strange.

Wanted to make a quick announcement here...

We're launching a new section of the 312sports site today. We are teaming up with a bunch of current and former Illini football and basketball players who will be blogging for the site. The ones who are there for the launch are Sergio McClain and Marcus Liberty, but we'll be announcing more over the coming weeks.

Sergio was the coordinator for the project, which he started up before approaching us. Anyway, the section of the site is called Ill-Bois. Check it out when you have a chance.

i absolutely cannot believe that calipari would know anything about this, and i'm sure that he doesn't. it's simply a gigantic coincidence that this keeps happening.

the ncaa made him this way PEOPLE!

Is this directed towards me? If it is, then I have very reasonably argued that this is, more or less, true.

It sounds to me that there was going to be an investigation no matter where Bledsoe ended up.

It just happened to be that Cal ended up with the kid who's grades were cooked, again.

Yeah, Calipari is the real victim here.

No Cal is trash. He's all what's wrong with college hoops.
