That could be, I don't know. His AAU coach said yesterday though that it was his offer right now if he wants it. His point was that's a good indicator of how highly they view him that they would tell a top 40 kid he doesn't have an offer anymore. He could be blowing smoke but he's usually not your typical AAU promoter.

I know some Illinois fans think he's ready to blow up similar to Anthony Davis. i don't know if that's just orange kool-aid though.

Uthoff?

Dan Poneman saw him last week and thinks he's a stud. I'm always a little skeptical of kids who don't have a single high-major offer after their junior year who suddenly "blow up". I saw him a couple times last year and thought he would be a really good MVC player.

Obviously he's improved and I wouldn't mind him at Iowa. He's very skilled and is a very good passer. He's a good shooter but I think that gets hyped up more because he's 6'8. I just don't know how he gained the athleticism to suddenly guard 3's in the Big Ten and he's 30+ pounds from being a 4.

Am I the only one who still wants Shaw more than Davis?

He sounds like Semrau from that description.

Semrau is not 30 pounds too light to guard anyone. I also don't think Richard is a great passer either.

Nope, Shaw's been my #1 target from the second the '11 class talk started up.

It was a lazy comparison going off my memory of Semrau(went to a nearby HS). I thought he was a lanky 6'9.

He's always been thought of as a banger, which is why that chest injury and subsequent weight loss caused him so many problems. His size and bulk were really what made him a solid recruit.

Yeah I really love Shaw's game.

the first time i really ever got to see semrau play was after he had that really bad chest infection or whatever, and his body type may have changed quite a bit while recovering from it. he may have been a different player. i thought he was supposed to be a 3-point shooting wing-type too.

by the time he got to see the court at illinois, he was what lavin calls an "anyauk".

FYI here is what Dan Poneman said regarding Illinois' 2011 class:

Henry is a 3 that can guard 4's has post moves, and has a back to the basket game. Uthoff is a 4 that can handle, pass, shoot and guard perimeter guys- and can play the 3. With Nnanna Egwu, Tyler Griffey and Meyers Leonard on the squad, and possibly a 2010 post commit, the Illini dont need their 4 man in 2011 to be a banger by any means. Henry can also play the 2. Illinois has offers out to Mike Shaw, Uthoff, Anthony Davis, and Quincy Miller ... first to commit gets that 4 slot.

Man, I am gonna be unhappy if we miss out on Shaw or Davis because of Uthoff.

That's what I think as well. All of his buddies, sans Wayne, are here. Not sure what he's waiting for.

there are some rumblings that calipari is attempting to hire jerrance howard away from illinois. i'm not worried, as howard left kentucky to come to illinois, and i'm pretty sure they won't offer him a raise that the illini can't at least come close to. i'm also absolutely sure that illinois will do whatever it takes to keep him, as he is the key for future program success. he'll leave eventually to take a head coaching position at a mid-major and i ultimately think he will end up as weber;s successor.

hiring people from within the program is clutch.

but seriously, cal is [expletive] scum, he's just looking for someone to take the fall for him during his next scandal.

I'm pretty sure that Jerrance has already said that he won't leave Illinois unless it is to be a head coach.

Jerrance isn't going anywhere. He is the definition of Illinois Loyalty.

I think SIU may be his next destination as a head coach.

Kentucky is really hard after him it sounds like, why? They are getting whoever the hell they want now anyways. Going after Jerrance only hurts us, it can't really help them.

Full B10/ACC schedule released.

Monday, Nov. 29

Virginia at Minnesota

Tuesday, Nov.30

North Carolina at Illinois

Ohio State at Florida State

Michigan at Clemson

Georgia Tech at Northwestern

Iowa at Wake Forest

Wednesday, Dec. 1

Michigan State at Duke

Purdue at Virginia Tech

North Carolina State at Wisconsin

Indiana at Boston College

Maryland at Penn State

I think the schedule's stacked in our favor. Sends 3 of our 4 bad teams on the road. I admit, I don't know that much about ACC schools, but it seems like they're burning up a couple decent teams to beat our bad teams by 30.

Amazing Mich St. vs. Duke game. That might be 1 vs 2 for that.
