Its looking more and more like the 07 class was a one trick pony.

They really cannot help that Robbie Hummel is made of glass. They definately have some talent, but like I thought they are missing Kramer and Grant more than most thought they would.

I knew last year was their best chance to do it. You know... before Hummel went down that is.

Yeah most sane people did, however DaBum ensured me this was the year he had circled all along. Not sure why?

Man, I love the way Notre Dame basketball plays defense. And I never expected to be typing that sentence circa January 2010. They just out-toughed Wisconsin tonight. I imagine they'll be ranked this week.

Purdue only won last night because SIU turned the ball over near 30 times. They looked like dog [expletive] again today offensively. They wait around for teams to self destruct (and everyone they had played so far had). Richmond just took JJ out of the game and the offense was crippled without him. Purdue will get their asses kicked during the Big Ten schedule if they can't make adjustments to teams taking away JJ. Everyone is going to try to do that.

I know I'm overreacting after a loss to a decent team, but Painter needs to get them turned around or this is going to be a painful senior season for Johnson and Moore.

They still look lost when they have to set up the offense. It doesn't help when Jackson is the only point guard on the roster that is smart enough not to pick up his dribble before he knows what he's going to do with the ball. Barlow routinely picks up his dribble without any clue what he's going to do. Also, Hart needs to get more minutes, preferably in place of Ryne Smith.

If the graphic during the broadcast was correct, I believe Richmond has won 6 of its last 10 against ranked opponents now. Still no excuse, but it makes me feel a little better about the loss.

Barlow is extremely athletic, I think his issue is that he's just kinda... well... dumb. Agreed on Ryne Smith. What does he do out there? Also, for all the talk about the 'other' bigs (Bade, Marcius, Caroll) improvement during the off-season - I haven't seen much of anything. If JJ were to go down, I could honestly see us finishing in the bottom third of the conference this year. We're that thin at forward.

I know he's only a '3 star', but I'm pretty excited about Jacob Lawson at PF next year.

Purdue picked up Bryson Scott last night, which is the lone Purdue bright spot over the weekend.

It's tough for Marcius, and Carroll to show much when they're only getting a handful of minutes a game. I think Painter made a mistake by not giving Carroll and Marcius some more minutes in the first few games of the Chicago Invitational. He really cut back their playing time after the first two games of the season. Marcius still has some work to do on the offensive end, but he's shown that he can rebound well. For all the talk about his offseason improvement though, Bade doesn't look that much better than last year. As for Smith, he was always billed as a great outside shooter, but his shot is terrible. He's not physical enough to play defense against Big Ten opponents.

I've got it at 8-3 Big Ten with Clemson, Maryland, and Duke winning

I don't think we get more than 7 wins. I can't count on Iowa and Purdue winning on the road. If Iowa wins we'll be 5-1 going to Wednesday. Minnesota, Northwestern, OSU and Illinois definitely should win. That would basically clinch it because of the Wisconsin game on Wednesday.

What the [expletive] are the Gophers doing?

Making it pretty tough for us to win this challenge. I think we lose 6 to 5. Whoever is making this schedule is an ACC fan.

Has there ever been a bigger jump in the polls from one week to the next than UConn? They went from receiving eight votes from the AP and none from the coaches last week to No. 7 and No. 9.

Syracuse went from unranked to number 10 in the AP and number 24 to number 9 in the coaches, last year

So they were totally overrated by the pollsters last week, I knew it. I'm just going to start referring to this as the "Tubby Factor."

Edit: Just realized Williams only played 7 minutes and Al Nolen didn't play, but I still think they are overrated.

Notre Dame once leapt from unranked to #10 as well, in 2002.

Pretty shocking to me that no Big 10 team has a winning record in the challenge. (MSU is the closest at .500, per wikipedia.)

It's also pretty shocking to me that you guys care so much about winning the challenge.

Don't worry, you'll get to take part in the OVC/Summit challenge soon enough.

I fear Mizzou getting blown out by Georgetown tonight. How many games in a row can we play terrible in the first half and get away with it?

Please keep winning so we can embarrass a high-ranked team in a few weeks.

I've been mainly focusing on the NU/GT game, but this IA/Wake game is still painful to watch out of the corner of my eye.

Not on the Iowa end son. Wake is terrible though.

Up 12 at half. Were up 14 and had the last shot but a bad freshman mistake got them a block and runout in the last 5 seconds.
