Steroids + ruined sex life = no slumpbuster....amirite?

"I am a single guy now and I was a single guy then and I like my sex life," Grace said. "I want to be able to perform. It's kinda funny but it's not. That stuff will tear you up as far as your manhood's concerned."

Grace appeared on the Dan Patrick radio show Thursday and called Mark McGwire's excuse that he used steroids to recover from injury "baloney," said he doubted his former teammate Sammy Sosa would come clean and explained why he was never tempted to juice.

I remember him telling DP one time that he tried to fart while Will Clark was on first but accidentally pooped. He was leading off the next inning and went to bat with down his pantlegs. No word on what became of the at bat.

Yeah, that's not true.

screw you guys, mark grace is awesome.

Yeah, other than his not so subtle jealousy of Sammy, he's pretty much awesome.

How? He's a terrible broadcaster, and a fratboy douchebag.

He amuses me, what can I say. Not in an intellectual way by any means, but he does. I wouldn't want him in the Cubs booth, but I do enjoy some of his...anecdotes (even if the humor is often unintentionally at his own expense). If I listened to him more, it might not be the case, but whatever. There are plenty of douches around the game that manage to never be funny, and are worse broadcasters.

Plus the fact that he was one of my favorite players growing up probably colors my opinion a bit.

Grace was one of my favorite players when I was younger and didn't know that he was a douche.

Now, I absolutely love hearing him tell stories for one half inning once a series against the DBacks... but I think any more than that would be pushing it.

I originally hated Grace calling games, but I think he's gotten a lot better and will probably continue to improve over time. I don't mind listening to him now.

I like Grace, but we all know that his sex life and everybody elses was Sandbergs wife. How difficult was that?

I thought he was the only one not boffing Cindy. Thought that's why we kept him instead of Palmeiro?

God forbid clean players be jealous of steroid users who put up ridiculous numbers because they cheated. What an ass that Mark Grace is.

And yet you don't hear teammates of known juicers making snide comments publicly on a regular basis like Grace does. It's petty, especially since the truth is so widely assumed anyway.

I don't see how it is petty.

Really? Because if Sammy hadn't been his teammate and he wasn't jealous of him, he wouldn't be doing it. It's not as if Grace is some sort of crusader in the steroids issue. He's picking on Sammy more simply because he was annoyed and jealous of the attention he got. If Sammy had been on another team, Grace probably wouldn't say anything about him at all.

It's Grace being petty.

First off, I don't even know what the big deal is, how often does he talk about Sammy? I can't remember the last time I heard him mention it. However, Sammy was a douche and a likely cheater, and if Grace pokes fun at him from time to time, how is that petty?
