The LA Times is reporting Pete Carroll met with Seahawks executives, including their CEO, earlier this week in LA. Looks like Mora's firing isn't coming out of nowhere.

He probably just wants to go up to Washington to scout the local talent.

 

And by talent I mean whores.

I can't wait until USC hires the Nicest Guy in College Football, Mike Riley and I won't have to hear all the bellyaching fromy you guys about the rogue program that needs to get SMUed.

Holy crap. I figured with Carroll leaving now Lane Kiffin hadn't proven he could build a program so my teams wouldn't be poached of a coach. I hadn't considered Fisher to USC though.

Yeah, it's really not that shocking. Fisher may get canned next year anyway if the Titans don't make a deep run into the playoffs and USC would pay him richly - and he'd have more security than he does now with an old, impatient owner. He's also got very strong ties with USC still.

 

I could see him going to USC with the thought that he'd wait it out until the Cowboys job or something came open and he'd go for it.

From what I've heard, USC will be sanctioned in the next few weeks.

I love this news. I hope all their recruits jump ship (Dillon Baxter to Michigan please) and USC goes down in flames with the NCAA investigation.

I'm seeing lots of stuff that says Mike Riley doesn't want to leave Oregon State and he plans to retire there. FWIW.

No kidding. Last night he just had a nervous chuckle while Herbstreit apologized for not having him in his top 5 preseason next year.
