Boise State set themselves up nicely for the championship game next year (which is conveniently in Glendale). They'll finish this year in the top 4, and they return 21 of 22 starters next year barring defections. They have VT in Washington DC and Oregon St at home to bolster their schedule as well.

With the majority of there team returning as well. But there not in a bcs conference so they wont be given a shot.

It's possible that they could be the preseason number two team in the nation next year. They'll be given a shot.

Great win for them tonight. Their defense definitely impressed me.

The thing for them is that there can't be two unbeaten teams from BCS conferences like this year.

But if they run the table, which would mean beating Va Tech and Oregon State, and there's only one major conference team that goes undefeated, they'll be right there. Obviously Va Tech and Oregon State having solid years outside of that, like Oregon this year, would be necessary as well since they wouldn't get much credit for beating average teams.

I also thought TCU was better offensively. I think Boise may have benefited from having been on this stage before, even if most of the players didn't play in that game. I don't see Boise being #2 preseason, but could be top 5. Will be tougher to get through next year's schedule undefeated than this year's though.

Alright on to the Orange Bowl...

I admit, I'm not unbiased here as a BSU fan, but I have no idea what game you were watching if you thought TCU was good offensively. They scored 10 points...they had really only one good drive. They had 36 rushing yards for the entire game. They had some success through the air, but they came out behind BSU in total yards. Both defenses played very well, and both offenses sputtered on the big stage. I don't know what you saw that you thought was "better".

TCU's offense looked terrible, I don't know if Dalton was pressing or nervous but he was awful. The best player they had all game was their punter.

Go Hawkeyes, lets give the Big Ten a winning bowl season for once

Stopping the wishbone is gonna be difficult but at least you've had a month to prep for it.

I hate being torn between my desire to see the B10 do well and my searing hatred of all things Hawkeye.

It's ok. Illinois will be kicking the crap out of us in basketball in an hour (assuming your an Illinois fan)

Yes, an Illinois fan raised in the Iowa City area. I'll be rooting for the Hawks in the most passive way possible.

Go Tech. I'm still bitter about the IU-Iowa game.

Actually I don't care. Go Big Ten. An Iowa win would clinch a winning bowl season for the conference right?

Go Go Go. Nice play by Iowa. I really think they have a chance to win tonight. I see their defense being able to shut down the triple option.

GT really has 0 receptions and 31 yards on the ground but got an int for a td with 24 seconds left in the first half while giving up 250 yards to only be down 7?

Very similar to the Cotton Bowl imo where OK State was only down 7-0 at the half but only had 2 first downs whereas Ole Miss had like 250 yards at that point in the game or something like that.

That's Iowa's offense really. The D holds strong and the O keeps the other team in the game. It doesn't help when Stanzi has thrown 4 TD's to the other team. If the defense keeps this performance up it won't matter though.

Stanzi with a good pass there, but does he have the arm to put some umph behind his passes? Every pass takes forever to get to the wide receiver.

He tries to get a lot of touch on his deep passes. It usually works as, outside of the Indiana game, it's his strength. Most of his INT's seem to come from bad reads on short passes.
