What in the [expletive]? A reporter just seriously asked Jay Cutler if his diabetes are to blame for his struggles? Are you kidding me? Did I really just hear that come out of a reporters mouth?

I think people have been saying this for a few weeks cause Jay has to check his numbers every time the defense is on the field. People think that because he does it a lot he must be having some problem. Yeah, it's stupid. Reporters are always looking for some inside scoop, even if they look ridiculous.

What did Jay say in response?

He blew it off and said his diabetes have no effect on his play, and they stay on top of it, almost to a fault. Basically said its ridiculous.

I don't think it has a game to game effect, but does it effect him more than a QB who doesn't have it at all?

On third and 5, I don't know about that call.

That was a perfect call.

It might have lost the Bears the game.

i dont know why youre having such a hard time understanding the difference between a bad call and a bad throw.

if cutler does his job, that's a touchdown and you're probably praising the call

If Cutler does his job....he has only done it a few times this year. Not enough to have confidence in him in that spot considering how he had played so far tonight.

And another Bears loss. Man I really did think they had that game in the third quarter.

Seriously. Stop trolling.

The trolling crap is getting old.

Seriously, I haven't been trolling. You telling me I am a troll is getting old. I posted that I thought the Bears were going to win because the defense was playing good and getting turnovers in the third quarter. I also have defended Lovie Smith time and time again. I don't post only negative comments.

correct, so stop

Where were you when I was defending Lovie Smith after the Cincinnati loss? When I said I thought the Bears were going to win in the third quarter in today's game?

It's too bad that a poster can't point out the good and the bad in the Bears without a bunch of children critiquing him.

Please ban Wilson already. Guy's a troll.

Oh, so Cutler blew this game by being unable to hit an open reciever, and Ron Turners playcalling was total garbage. Gotta love the lack of RB screens and slants.

So, the Bears basically have two options when it comes to QBs...

1) Guys with good arms, but who have a tendency to throw crippling interceptions and periodically make bad decisions

2) Guys with noodle arms who are relatively smart, but can't advance the team down the field to save their lives

This is becoming a disturbing trend.

Went to the grocery store after the game. Heard Bears post-game on the radio. The ad talking about the money being paid on every Cutler TD and completion had me chuckling.

Microcosm of the Bears season? I saw people mention this during the game thread, but missed it. That's hilarious. I'm sorry I erased it off the DVR already.

So, is Cutler a loser? The losing records in Denver. Going to have a losing record this year in Chicago. Denver had its problems. Bears have their problems. But it can be argued that Jay Cutler is predominately responsible for the losses to GB, SF, and Philly last night, and possibly Atlanta with his redzone INTs. And didn't play very well vs. Cincy, Cleveland, and Arizona.

Complain about the OL, WRs, playcalling or whatever, but Jay Cutler is not getting it done. McNabb has typically worked with WRs of similar abilities. Rodgers has done just fine with lesser pass protection. Romo has done better with crappy playcalling. At some point, Cutler just has to go out and play better football despite the crap around him. That's what franchise QBs do.

Franchise QBs also usually have a good coaching staff. Yesterday, Cutler has to share a large part of the blame. But I maintain nobody is offering anything to the kid in terms of how to improve his game, or how to get out of ruts, etc. etc.

I don't care what the Bears say. If they keep going down the drain and Jay Cutler's mentor is on the unemployment line, they have to look at Shanahan.

I have a feeling that they simply won't. Or anyone else.

I just can't see this team paying double for coaching. They'll try to ride it out for another year.

He's not getting it done. There's no denying that (although they lose the Steelers game without him, IMO). I'm definitely not ready to buy into the whole "he's not a winner" garbage though.

I don't think anyone can expect him to overcome all of the things you mentioned simply because he is a franchise QB. Franchise QB's certainly should be able to overcome some of the team's shortcomings, but he can't do it all himself. There is no running game...the o-line is horrible...the WR's are sub-par...and of course some disappointing play calling. The offensive coaches need to draw up a game plan that plays into Cutler's strengths.

There were some good calls last night that Cutler simply missed, and certainly that has to be put squarly on him. I've been pretty disappointed in a few of his games, but in no way am I close to buying into the loser stuff. Even with his shortcomings this year, I think he's among the least of their problems.

McNabb has usually had at least one guy who's a decent receiver. Andy Reid is also a pretty good playcaller for a quarterback.

Rodgers has done just fine with lesser pass protection.

But very good receivers.

Romo has done better with crappy playcalling.

And good receivers.

All of the guys you mentioned have SOMETHING they can use to their advantage. The Bears are a trifecta of suck: bad receivers, bad playcalling, bad protection.

Cutler is having a rough year. But at this point I think we could bring in Manning or Brady and ruin them too. No I'm not saying Cutler is as good as Manning or Brady, what I am saying is that we ruin QB's. ](*,)

But on a more serious note, I think we desparately need a good QB coach and/or OC who can really work with and develop a young QB. A guy like Shanahan would be a nice fit in that role but as somebody else mentioned I highly doubt the Bears would be willing to pay the money to add him to the staff.

This whole season is just a disaster any way you cut it and plenty of blame to go around. Cutler isn't immune to some blame too but I still don't regret making the trade. But man I never realized what a mess this team would be. I really did not. There is so much to fix, a lot more to fix than a 1st round pick and 2nd round pick could aid with.....and trading away that 2nd rounder for Gaines Adams just looks more and more brutal right now.
