Eagles at Bears Sunday 7:20 on NBC

I guess this game should be discussed or something. Bears are 2 point underdogs. You have to believe McNabb and company will be able to move the ball through the air even without Westbrook around. The Philly defense isn't as good as its been in the past, in fact it's kind of similar to the Bears this year, slightly worse against the pass, slightly better against the run, the difference being that they are much better getting to the QB and taking the ball away. Playoff hopes are virtually gone, however, the wild card leaders in the nfc are all just 5-4, meaning a win here could actually keep the Bears in the discussion.

We'll probably see another crap show by somebody, either the defense giving up 300 yards and 3 TDs in the air, or Cutler and Co. turning the ball over on command. I'm guessing they will emphasize throwing the ball out of bounds and that kind of stuff, which will just stifle the only effective part of the offense.

I just hope it's not too embarrassing.

I'll watch. It's not like we can tank enough at this point to get a really good draft pick anyway. So we might as well make things interesting.

That said, I'm starting Philadelphia's D on my fantasy squad and feeling pretty good about it.

Is that sarcasm? Or did you forget the Bears don't pick until the 3rd round this year?

I admit, I've had to catch myself on this a couple times too. Normally there would be a top draft pick to root for, but this year the worse we are the better the Broncos will like it.

I can't disagree with much of that. He's right on the money about the NFL being a passing-centric type league. Having a good running game is (almost) a luxury for good NFL offenses to help ice games and complement other aspects of the offense (play action, boots, etc.). But the idea that you run to set up the pass is largely dormant...it's definitely the other way around.

The philosophy from the scheme to the roster needs to be about building a dangerous and efficient passing attack.
