I wonder if last year's run was del harris' doing. And now that he's gone, vinny lost his little crutch.

 

At any rate, it is laughable for anyone to suggest that vinny should get some kind of deference because he squeaked in to the playoffs last year and his team had a better-than-expected losing effort. Wilbon tried to argue that point on PTI yesterday.

Didn't watch the game last night, but it looks like Tyrus came up big. I hope the Bulls can realize that Taj Gibson is simply a very cheap imitation and should not be considered anything close to a replacement for him. If they trade Tyrus, it better be for a really good player or because they absolutely need to in order to score a free agent.

I keep hearing Lawrence Franks name brought up as a top candidate, and for the life of me I have no idea why. Id rather have Avery Johnson or Byron Scott over Frank.

ESPN had reported that VDN firing imminent. Doug Collins name has come up again. Now, the latest has VDN denying the reports that he's gone.

Its funny that VDN keeps saying you cant use injuries etc.. as an excuse, but in every interview he does, he brings it up, but says its not an excuse. Hes using it as an excuse completely, but he wont come out and say it because he knows the media and fans wont have it.

Bulls might as well gamble that he can stay remotely healthy and try to make a run at their usual 7th or 8th playoff seed with him (wow they actually are the 8 seed now in the sorry East). He has an expiring contract and would be $23 Mil coming off the books in this offseason.

I wouldn't think they would require any real young talent like Tyrus or Noah, because they weren't getting anything out of McGrady anyway. So, if they could improve their role players they should be fine.

 

Houston could use some size, so I'd imagine Brad Miller and his expiring contract would be of interest. I think one of 2 deals could interest the Rockets:

 

McGrady for Miller and Hinrich

McGrady for Miller, Salmons, Jerome James
