I'm not convinced the Auburn D will be able to stop Arkansas, but I am convinced that Auburn will be able to put up 25+ points. I think Auburn wins a close one.

I don't know about that. Auburn's defense is as bad as their offense is good. (Not to mention Auburn's special teams is by far the wrost in the SEC) Ryan Mallet and Bobby Petrino must be salivating at the thought of carving up Auburn's "defense." The game can go either way, but I think the superior talent on offense by Arkansas gives them the advantage, not to mention HFA. I think Arkansas is going to hang at least 45 on Auburn. I can see Auburn winning the game, but ultimately I think Arkansas wins the game.

I don't 'know about it' either. This isn't a game on which I would wager. Your opinion doesn't suprise me though.

Very exciting for a college kid to be kicked off a team for a mistake. At least you're not excited that he's out with an injury. (He is).

i have a hard time feeling bad for a guy who lied to the NCAA. he pretty much made his own bed here.

He's still a 20 year old who made a relatively small mistake. It's not like he shot up a club or something.

lots of college kids get punished for relatively small mistakes. it's not tragedy.

agreed, which is why he's being suspended from playing football instead of going to jail for a long time. what punishment do you think is appropriate for lying to the ncaa?

Why is this Deion's fault? He had a college player to his house, in violation of no rules (at least according to what I've read) and the kid lied to the NCAA about it. Seems like Bryant has no one to blame but himself.

Being rule ineligible is far too harsh of a punishment for Bryant. Suspended for a game or two, sure, but rule ineligible no. If they are going to rule that Bryant is ineligible to play, then NCAA needs to rule every team in America ineligible when they have celebrities, alumni, or former football players on the sideline.

I am glad Bryant is appealing this decision, cause this was a horrible decision by the NZAA's.

How long is the punishment? The NCAA is notorious for screwing people over for relatively minor mistakes, I wouldn't entirely blame a kid for lying about something he might have thought could land him in a heap of trouble. I don't necessarily have a problem with them punishing the guy, but is he suspended for the season or something? That would be nuts.

I actually heard someone suggest this morning that NCAA FB and BB players form an union. As absurd as it sounded, the absurdity of the NCAA often is begging for some drastic reaction.

He's not ineligible for contact with a celebrity/former player, he's ineligible for lying to the NCAA about it. The fact is he thought he screwed up, and he tried to cover it up. Moral of the story: Don't lie

Nonetheless, the punishment does NOT fit the crime. Suspension of up to 2 maybe 3 games, but being rule ineligible because he lied is really stupid.

Missouri just went for it on 4th and 2 from the Nebraska 2 yard line with 2 seconds left. The result: TD Missouri and it's 9-0 at halftime instead of 5-0.

More teams should go for it in that area.

That's probably the only situation I'd consider kicking the FG.

The only difference with that situation and any other situation is that the loss of momentum would go with you into halftime.

I don't care about the momentum factor. One of the big advantages of going for it is if you fail to convert the other team takes over in awful territory, and you'll likely get the ball back in their territory anyway.
