Not on topic with this week but tomorrow 4-star QB A.J. Derby is holding a press conference to commit to Iowa.

Doesn't hurt that he's from Iowa City, his dad played for Iowa and his brother is a walk on at Iowa. But he had offers from Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Illinois, Miami, Michigan, Nebraska, Wisconsin and a bunch of others.

hopefully he will enjoy beating penn state four times in his career.

Looks like Bradford is not going to start vs Miami. It's a combination or "Mustache" Jones acting like he's a heisman canadate throwing six touchdowns in a game and not wanting to rush Bradford back. Bradford will probably be on the bench just in case. It won't matter though, our defense will have their third straight shutout anyway.

We're going to be loaded at quarterback for a long time. Jones is only a freshman and Blake Bell (scout.com five star, #1 pro style recruit qb) coming in next year. Bradford might even stay another year (he's really wanted to get his degree) but i doubt that.

Hell, we have the number one recruiting class so far for 2010 according to rivals. We're just going to be loaded everywhere

He's a four star with ESPN and Rivals and they both have OU ranked further down overall #3 and #8 ;-).

well, they're wrong, scout is right

I don't know UT is ranked higher in the other two polls so I think I will go with those ;-). OU just has the highest number of commits which benefits them in Scouts ranking as they look at a total points stand vs. average ranking. It pretty much comes down to Jeffcoat, White, Hicks, and Seastrunk if they happen to get any of them. Any there is a chance neither will land any of them. Then again recruiting championships don't = national championships.

I am pissed that Mack Brown couldn't recruit the other Mack Brown out of Florida :-).

I really hope IU can keep it together mentally coming off a real tough loss in Ann Arbor and at least show up for the Ohio State game. It would have been so awesome to head into that game at 4-0 with a historic road win in the bank. ](*,)
I'm a bit surprised IU didn't receive any votes in either poll. I didn't expect them to be ranked, but with their only loss being a close road loss against a ranked team I thought they'd at least get noticed.

You're surprised that a team that everyone thought would be awful isn't ranked because they barely beat EMU, WMU, and beat Akron?

Led by former -- and future? -- Hoosier Caleb Porter . I shouldn't name-drop and say I know him.

I guess I'll put this here. Oregon may reinstate Blount

Ducks coach Chip Kelly planned to speak with the media after practice Friday “to discuss elements of his plan that has been in place with senior running back LeGarrette Blount that could include Blount’s potential reinstatement prior to the conclusion of the 2009 season,” the school said in a statement.

Blount, who punched Boise State’s Byron Hout after a season-opening loss, had been suspended by the school for the rest of the season. He could be reinstated provided Blount continues to follow a plan set in place after the first game, a source told ESPN. That would not happen until Oregon’s bye week on Oct. 17 at the earliest.

It’s believed Oregon athletic director Mike Bellotti and school president Richard Lariviere have agreed to a possible reinstatement. On Thursday, the Oregon school newspaper published an apology from Blount, who recently became a new father.

Blount has also called Hout and Boise State coach Chris Petersen to apologize for the punch, which was captured by national television cameras. Although he was suspended, Blount remains on scholarship and has been allowed to practice with the team.

So does Alabama and their 14 fake national championships, but I don't go around saying it

IU wouldn't have been ranked even if they'd beaten Michigan. They'd have been close, but you don't just jump from edging out horrible MAC teams to ranked in 1 week unless you do something like beat a top 10 team or clobber somebody pretty good.

So basically once Oregon realized they had a chance at the Rose Bowl the suspension goes out the window.

Wisconsin @ Minnesota should be a fun game. A victory for the Badgers will get me really hopeful for this season since the Gophers have looked pretty solid this year. I'm not expecting 1st or 2nd in the Big Ten for them, but a 3rd place finish with a strong roster heading into 2010 would be great for the program and would also save Bielema from getting canned.

To be fair, I think 2 months suspension was more then fair for Blount. Yes he threw a punch and went all WWE on the crowd, but the punishment was no more rationale that Blount's action. So I have no problem that Oregon is giving the young man a CHANCE at reinstatement.

To be honest, since I'm out of the area, I knew their record but hadn't paid that close attention to the scores.

They should have a chance of winning the MAC, though, since they're undefeated. :D

I hate being sick on game days.

If your married its great. You have a legit reason to lay down all day and watch football.

But I'm not married. I'm in college. It gives me a legit reason to stay home from getting drunk at 7 in the morning.
