Bradley will outplay whoever the Cubs stick in RF next year.

and so what if he does? He didn't want to be here and it's apparent that both the management and the players didn't like him either.

That's not something the emotional people are concerned about. They hated Bradley, and they'll cross the bridge of who plays RF later. I've yet to see one reasonable suggestion from them about how to fix the situation.

The team (on the field) will be worse for losing him. There's no way to quantify the off-the-field stuff in terms of wins and losses

Good thing Bradley produced THIS YEAR for us.

Almost exactly like a league-average RF, yup.

Though I bet you'll either gloss over this post or refer to some absurdly bad statistic like RBI and pretend it proves a point.

So I guess we can't use the "his teammates have always loved him" line anymore.

What a disaster. Could this signing have possible gone ANY worse?

The funniest part? He's stayed relatively healthy this season.

Hate Milton Bradley for being a dick all you want. Hate him for being worth about 3 mil worth less than his contract for all I care. But saying he wasn't performing is absurd.

Well he wasn't producing like he was getting paid for, how about that.

Don't bother with that guy. He and the other Bradley defenders will defend him to no end even when his own teammates have now said he's basically an ass.

I really wonder about some of the posters on this board.

There are some people who look at stats in a vacuum and refuse to consider that anything else could have an impact on the team. Bradley has not been the only problem with the Cubs this year, but refusing to acknowledge that he has been a problem is just ridiculous.

this year is over. I'm concerned about next year. I don't particularly want Micah Hoffpauir or Mark DeRosa in RF next year

Well if he's only giving us average production then maybe we can get a truly average RF who isn't a cancer in the clubhouse.

You don't know that.

Give me one realistic option to put out there that's likely to outproduce Bradley.

One.

I've been asking for quite a while... haven't seen anybody come up with one.

don't respond to him, he's awful.

rob is right... you can hate bradley all you want, but how are the cubs going to get any better by trading him for basically nothing and having to eat his entire contract? there are plenty of "see you guys are wrong, he's a complete a-hole!!!" but no actual suggestions on how to resolve the situation without the cubs being lousy next year.

League average production would be fine if he

A) Was getting paid league average

B) Wasn't a monumental d-bag

That's fine.

But there are plenty of players who haven't lived up to their contracts this year. Soriano was worth less than a replacement player this year... with a difference between his performance and what we've paid him of about 20 million. That's hard to pull off when we only paid him 16 million. And I'd be shocked if Dempster and Zambrano have produced within 3 mil of their contract as well... hell, due to the injuries, Ramirez may not have either.

How many of them whined and complained to the media like Milton did? Everyone's to blame except for Bradley.

Here's my only question for those of you who keep bringing up the "clubhouse" element: Do you believe the lack of chemestry created by Bradley being here contribuited to the Cubs losing any games this season? If so, how? If not, then why do you care about the Cubs not getting along? Thanks.

Oh my God, I really think you do this just to get a rise out of people yet you continue to ignore the facts about Bradley's productivity this year.

A league average RF who was paid $10 million and generally acted like an ass to everybody associated with the organization.

Yes, we must keep and protect this guy. [-( [-( [-(

I'd prefer to go with 2 outfielders the rest of the season, as a memorial to the Milton Era.

His assholeness was truly transcendent.

What's laughable is that people seem to view Bradley as if he were Barry Bonds.

He's been league average at the plate while playing below average defense - practically irreplacebale!

I agree that trading him is going to make us worse, but can this situation realistically be resolved with Bradley staying in Chicago? Bradley has seemingly has his mind made up for a while now that he wants out of Chicago and is going to say or do whatever it takes to make that happen. He has kind of forced the situation.

Man, our right field situation is going to suck next year

RF is quickly turning into pre-Ramirez 3B for the Cubs. Between Santo and Aram, the Cubs went through a billion mediocre third basemen. Now we're suffering from a run of crap in RF post-Sosa.

Who's replacing Bradley in RF next year? I'm eager to hear your response.

Why don't you wait until we see who actually will replace him next year before you make any proclamations as to who will have a better season. Speculation at this point is like pissing in the wind.

Pretty awesome that the highlight of watching Milton play this season was seeing him high five that fan on opening day

Or you can look at the realistic in-house and free agent RF options for next year and see that I'm right

Trade for Pujols, put him in RF.

Was that so hard?
