why can't one of the teams i like ever be good? it seems like i'm constantly watching the other team march down the field and score without much effort.

hey, you guys have had 3 winning seasons the last 15 years or so. that's not horrible, i guess.

actually it's probably worst in the BigTen, but it's probably better than Vanderbilt or something.

Unfortunately, Indiana says hi.

Kansas holds on. Blaine Gabbert should throw for 600 yards against their defense, though I wish we played them earlier in the year before their D has a chance to get their feet underneath them.

I still want to see Gabbert play against a team that's worth a ish before I jump on his bandwagon. (Sorry UI.) I was unimpressed vs Nevada, and I won't even bring up the Bowling Green game. Last night, all he was doing was tossing up jump balls. That won't fly in the Big 12.

But yeah, our defense looked pretty porous today. Didn't give me a lot of confidence heading into the Big 12 season. I have a feeling the South teams are gonna light us up, just like last year.

You'll get to see him light up Nebraska in about 10 days.

YOu think you guys will win that game?

That commercial for Illinois was embarrassing. Like it was filmed in 1987

And the effort on the field was similarly embarrasing.

I think NU wins by 10-14. Should be an interesting game, though.

The Big Ten needs to do something about this, because this is embarrassing for the league. You can't just blatantly hand games to the big-ticket team in the conference without repercussion.

why not? it's been happening for years.

i'm just too tired of pointing it out to even get annoyed. if you play michigan in ann arbor you have to overcome the home-field officiating. i just wish it worked against them when the went on the road. it's not a problem for any specific team in the conference; everyone gets screwed against them.

The last 2 years the matchup has had similar hype, about how it would be a statement of Nebraska's return to the national scene. I'm going to have to see it in order to believe it, because while neither team is the same as previous years, I'm not sure the changes make up for the 5 touchdowns that Mizzou beat them by each of the last two years. Plus, Mizzou has done really well in big matchups coming off of bye weeks, and the game is in Columbia.

As a MSU fan I find this very tiring. Maybe its because my dad and son are Michigan fans, but the truth is that Michigan has had many games in the past where poor officiating has hurt them. It is your dislike of Michigan that is clouding your judgement, not any objective facts that show that Michigan receives more breaks than anyone else. So please just shut up. Maybe your Penn st and ND supperiority complexes just cant handle that Michigan is just as good as you guys if not better.

I was at that Illinois/Michigan game. It doesnt show it on the replay from the angle on the video but there was a facemask on Anthony Thomas on the play that he fumbled. It is easily seen on the reverse angle that is never shown in Illinois. Yes the refs blew teh Rocky Harvey fumble, but that also would have been fourth down adn Illinois would have punted. If you were at that game you would have realized that Illinois didnt stop Michigan the entire 2nd half. So an extra 40 yards the punt would have netted would have been meaningless. What is lost in this is that Michigan had like 400 yards rushing. It is easy to blame refs, but if you give up 400 yards rushing you are a loser!!

The Purdue/ND and PSU/Iowa games should be pretty good ones. Looks like it's going to be a mess in Penn State.

they have one of (if not the) best natural grass fields in the country. we'll see how it holds up

and you're a michigan fan. your posting history makes this pretty obvious. it's fine but let's not lie about our loyalties here.

as for the anthony thomas fumble, maybe it was a facemask but the ball was out before any facemask would have occurred. and i like how you play off the rocky harvey like having to drive another 40 yards doesn't matter.

also, feel free to provide examples of where michigan was boned over by the refs.

Nebraska held up quite well in a nationally televised night game in Blacksburg against a much better team than Mizzou. And Missouri has been very up and down, IMO. The Illinois win was very impressive, regardless of how bad UI is. But the BG game tells me Mizzou is very erratic, and they were not that impressive for 3 quarters against what has turned out to be a pretty crappy Nevada team.

The game last year shouldn't be used as a litmus either, imo. Maclin/Coffman/Daniel, etc are huge losses. And that was an early season game for Neb in its first year with a new coach/new system; Neb is much different now. They're not going to return to the old Neb of old like many Corn fans think, but they're back to being a dangerous team in the North. I think Gabbert's and Mizzou's overall youth show in this matchup.
