I trust Jake Fox will get the start in left and Soriano remains on the bench where he belongs. Other than that, I have little doubt we can at least take 2 from the Nationals, but the games will mean as much to us as they do to them.

Personally, I would like to see Soriano given the "Andres Blanco" treatment, and go on the DL because of an "injury."

Hopefully Z can continue the trend of strong starts, and the offense can stop their trend of of sucking. Lilly and Wells deserved to win their games, and Gorz was very strong as well, but sometimes you have to make sacrifices to Aaron Miles up to the plate.

I'd like to see him given the buried deeply on the bench with concrete shoes treatment.

Crap. I'm going to be stuck watching the local broadcast here for all three games, which means having to listen to Rob Dibble.

He doesn't want to be treated like a man!

I'd like to see him go on the DL with his legit knee issue.

If he had a legit DL-able knee injury, why wouldn't he have already gone on the DL? He doesn't have a games played clause for his contract. He's not an irreplacable force in the lineup. He doesn't have some sort of games played streak. They haven't shied away from using the DL for other players.

Stubbornness on his part. I didn't say I necessarily think this is the issue, just hopeful.

Yeah, if there is one thing we can't get on Soriano about, its his desire to play the game. The problem is he is not always smart while playing it.

Which game is rained out? :D

Huh? They have a 10 game homestand no?

If they do go 10-0, they still don't really make up enough ground unless STL and/or COL go 4-5 during the same stretch of games.

We don't need that kind of collapse if they play that out of their minds. Catching the Cardinals basically requires a sweep of them in that 3 game set. So, the Cubs need to make up 5 games somewhere else. Making up all 5 of those in one stretch isn't really necessary.

That 3 game stretch ain't gonna get it done.

Which is why they have to make up 5 more games, though all 5 are not needed in the next ten games.

Yeah, I'm an idiot.

If we won every game this homestand, the Cardinals would probably go 9-1.

Haha, no chance they'd lose a game

they'd find a way to go 11-0

I understand this is enjoyable or a release for some, and I don't want to presume to tell people how to post. Just understand that the tongue-in-cheek exaggerations about the Cardinals doing well or the Cubs doing poorly are extremely irritating to many people, especially with how often they are seen in various forums.
