Why are people acting like this is the first time this has ever happened?

Beer accidentally spilling = somewhat common

Throwing a beer at a player = not that common

This is the last team that moron should have thrown at. Because when the Cubs go to Philly, our outfielders will end up with enough batteries to last them a couple of years..

I think the real crime is that Steve Bartman will forever be linked to the failure of the Chicago Cubs and forced into hiding because of the fact that he happened to catch a ball that about 10 other people were also reaching for, and this douche will probably be forgotten by next tuesday.

One was a playoff game, one wasn't. One (supposedly) cost the Cubs a significant out in a game that could have sent the Cubs to the WS. One didn't.

It's the circumstances that made Bartman memorable.

Im not debating that, its just that one guy really did nothing wrong, it was just bad timing. Chances are, Moises never catches that ball and Gonzalez still botches that DP no matter what. Meanwhiel the other guy completely makes our entire fan bases look like idiots, and will ultimately be forgotten.

I was just emailing back to friends in Chicago. We were wondering if the bleechers at Wrigley could be made alcohol free as an over-reaction to this?

Weren't the bleechers at the old Yankee Stadium dry? I also seem to remember sitting in the bleechers as a kid at the old Metropolitan Stadium in Minneapolis and those being dry.

Didn't anyone else think it was kinda hilarious/awesome? I know the Mets fans were loving it.

No, it was completely idiotic. If they could ban that douche for life from Wrigley, I would be content. It is ironic that one idiot's actions can be followed by other morons trying to lump this as the avg. representation of Cubs fans. Yes, if you do that you are a moron just like the guy who threw the beer is.

But how many times have Cubs fans pointed at the Lidge family as a representation of everyone at The Cell? Far too often.

Agreed, Sox fans have taken too much crap for Ligue and other things from Cubs fans and those who do that are idiots as well. It doesn't have stopping points only designated towards Cubs' fans stereotypes.

It's "bleachers" and the damn things are sponsored by Bud Light for chrissakes. Making them alcohol-free would kill two revenue streams simultaneously.

Unfortunately, the Cubs' fan base contains a fair amount of low-class individuals. The post above nominates you for membership in that club.

Nobody can deny that when that white trash father and son attacked the Royals 1st base coach, Cubs fans didnt use it as a stereotype for Sox fans.

I think you're only talking about half of the Sox fan base. The other half are the inbred extended family of William Ligue and his son. They're pretty skinny (but then again, so are most crack heads and crack wh***s).
