I wish I had any confidence in it coming to be. However, I don't.

Not to derail the thread, but is there any talk of firing Dusty in Cincinnati? I'd imagine he's worn out his welcome.

I like this for 2 reasons. We proved we can hit Arthur Rhodes pretty well so if he goes to the Dodgers, I am more confident we can get to their bullpen if throw him at us.

Also having Taveras, Dickerson, Hairston, Pierre and whoever else they have on the Reds would just be hysterical.

LOL!! I've restrained my desire to comment in the Cubs Discussion thread...I'd merely be piling on at this point

This fellow should be starting somewere. A lock for 200 hits! but the Reds don't make any sense because they have a solid leadoffer in Taveres.

and 500 outs. Wait, are outs still a bad thing?

That trade would help improve the Dodgers, so I'm hoping it doesn't happen.

Yeah, we proved we can hit Rhodes, chances are we won't do that every time out.

I don't see how trading for Pierre makes any sense for the reds. I doubt this is true.

I don't see how signing Dusty Baker made any sense for the Reds. Nevertheless.

Yeah, but the previous Gm was the one who hired him not this one.

Yea that .289 OBP is fantastic for Taveras

Hendry = Idiot

Wait...what?

Why?

I don't think you've seen enough of SZJ's posts. That, or you're interpreting them incorrectly.

Could they consider this as a "sell" move?

Reds Are Sellers; Close To Making A Deal?

By Ben Nicholson-Smith [July 27 at 2:29pm CST]

Jeff Fletcher of AOL FanHouse hears that the Reds are close to making a deal after top team officials spoke on a conference call this morning. The Reds, fifth in the NL Central, are sellers and have pitchers like Bronson Arroyo, Aaron Harang and Francisco Cordero who could all appeal to teams seeking pitching.

The Dodgers have interest in Arroyo and Harang, but only if their pursuit of Cliff Lee falls through. The Reds would likely have to take on salary in any deal involving Harang or Arroyo.
