Hawk Harrelson would have gone full blown psycho on that call.

I liked Len though

"That is the worst call I've ever seen at 2nd base"

Glad to see Lou sit on his ass once again. Thats 2 blown calls at 2nd base this series.

He was on the top step of the dugout arguing with the umps.

I understand that, but my God thats such a horse crap call come on the field. I know it really doesnt mean much, but its not like Fuku can argue since he barely speaks English. At least come out of the dugout.

Honestly, this umpiring crew is getting on my [expletive] list. Two awful calls in two days at 2nd base.

Play under protest.

Unfortunately, that's not a play you can protest.

And it was a horrible call....much worse than the Jeter one.

What kind of calls can you protest? And does playing under protest really accomplish anything?

I know you can't protest judgment calls but that call was so obvious that you should be able to protest it. Too bad the ump probably won't get into trouble.

Will it be on PTI? Umm....no.

From what I understand, you can protest the umpire's judgment of the rules (George Brett pine tar incident is the most famous). It usually does nothing but if something is ruled they start the game over from the point that it was protested (ala the George Brett game). That game is actually the only one that I know of that they agreed to restart that game.

Holy Christ, that thing wasn't even a bang-bang play.

little known fact: in the vicinity also means the ball can be in the vicinity of the fielders glove. And vacinity means 8 feet or so. Soon they may adapt it so if the pitcher looks toward 2b and pretends to throw it, it will count. Bit only against the Cubs of course.
