lou needs to light a fire under this team. literally. i'm thinking he set fire to the visitors locker room.

he really hasnt had the opportunity. If theres a close play that we get the wrong end of the call on, then yeah, he can throw a tantrum, but its just been bad offense. He cant go kick dirt on the ump over a routine pop out or grounder.

i'm not talking about bad calls, i'm talking about him expressing that the way the cubs are playing right now is not acceptable. burning down the locker room should get that message acros.

Lee sucks. Cubs suck. Neal Cotts sucks. David Patton never pitches. Bradley is over paid. Fontenot forgot how to hit. Aaron Miles stole $5 million from us. We're cursed.

/rant

Miles didnt steal anyhting, Hendry should be fired for giving it to him

Embezzlement.

i think that miles feels sort of like that couple from new zealand right now.

I want to hear Lou's press conference.

Here's how it'll go...

Lou: Look, Peavy went out there and pitched a great game. We really need to starting hitting. Blah. Blah. Blah.

Very frustrating considering all the guys they had on base all game.

another thing the 2004 team had huge problems doing that this team also has, so many runner were left on base

you know who else left runners on base? the 2008 cubs

Yeah, the team that went nowhere. Is there a team that actually wins things we can use as a standard? Thanks.

curiously the best offensive teams in history also leave runners on base I WONDER WHY

there is a big difference in leaving runners on when you keep putting up big numbers and when you cant get runners home

RISP

2008 Cubs .278

2004 Cubs .266

OBP for the 2004 Cubs was .329

OBP for the 2008 Cubs was .352

Yes the numbers are almost the same but when you are getting on base at a much larger rate, you are going to both score more runs and leave more runners on base.

it helps me stay positive during the losing streaks. plus it's the cubs, does anyone really believe they're going to win a world series?

ATP to give me something to smile about I am rereading the "Chicago Bears offseason thread" from the moment the Bears picked up Jay Cutler. It gives me something to smile about, seeing as the Cubs refused to play this game call baseball.

I don't even want to pay attention anymore. We would have to play considerably better just to reach the definition of pathetic. Everyone except Fukudome just plain sucks with the bat right now, and the pitching has been just good enough to make our losses look less lopsided, and no better. The defense sucks. Lou is horrible. Hendry's offseason just looks worse by the day, as the Miles signing alone pretty much cancels out any good things that happened. And anyone that DOES show a sign of not sucking goes on the DL.

Don't tease like that.

What the heck has crawled up your butt this week? I know rationally speaking we should probably be okay, but I don't understand why people reacting this way after such a pathetic stretch of baseball should be new, nor do I see why it's all that unforgivable.
