I have an idea. Whoever is pitching tomorrow, throw one at Gonzalez in the 1st. Try to make him a little uncomfortable up there. If you don't want to throw it up and in, just throw it at his knees. Make him move his feet at least. This is ridiculous.

That ought to get our offense going.

It couldn't hurt anything. He's hit 5 HRs in 4 games. They need to do something. It's the same thing with Pujols. Maybe if somebody would knock him down every now and then he might stop killing us.

Maybe a good bench clearing situation would wake em up. At least we would know they care.

How many injuries would we end up with in the process?

Hahaha Lee thought he got that one. You got no power. Just retire already.

Did his bat just slow down? I mean what's the deal with him?

I think he was on the juice myself.

I think the wrist injury combined with his age is a better answer than any nebulous "he was on steroids" reason

The wrist didn't help for sure, but since pretty much everyone was on the juice in that era I don't see why I can't think lee was as well.

Because "the juice" doesn't adjust your swing, which is the obvious reason for Lee's success in 2005.

Call it blissful ignorance, but I don't think Lee was on the juice. Now Soto, on the other hand...

personally i think he added to much weight and that really messed up his timing

I think his biggest problem now is he's back on the fat.

plus tall, rangy guys like him don't tend to age that well because they have a longer swing and their loss of bat speed hurts them more than it does a shorter guy with a more compact swing.

they probably shouldn't have given him 5 years, $65M after that one great season.

He sucks. To me he will always be the guy who crushed me in '03.

Eh, without the wrist injury that's probably not a bad deal.

So you only like players that have never done well against the Cubs?

Not all of them have hits who wiped away a world series appearance.
