Absolutely gutless. How can you not at least put some decent wood on 85mph fastball one after the other. Worst night of baseball in a long time.

This complaining reminds me of a Dusty team.

the ball's a foot outside, i'd be pissed too.

He's been calling it all night. I've said it's not a strike, but you've got to protect there.

i suppose, but hallion should lose his job if he's not going to call games properly.

Now that I think about it the Cubs were doomed to lose when they didn't cross that magical 4 run barrier. What are they 16-1 when they score 4 or more now?

So, how many of those Brewer fans were fans 4 years ago?

Less than half of them, but it doesn't make me feel any better.

Nope, it actually pisses me off more.

0-11 when scoring 3 or fewer runs

0-9 when scoring 1-3 runs

I didnt read this thread and really not in the mood too so could someone explain why Wells was lifted after only 85 pitches thru 5 inning?

He had worked out of some jams all game long. I don't think they had much faith he could go unscathed through the order another time.

The Cubs were due for this horrible luck (with injuries) after being so healthy for two years.

After 2004, and after two of the most talented pitchers of the generation fading into virtual nothingness, I think we were due about a decade of relative healthiness.

Instead we've gotten DL trips for our best starting pitcher and now our most reliable and probably best hitter, the latter of which might be for the entire season. Plus nagging injuries for our first baseman, our right fielder (granted, that was expected) and some mysterious injury that's turned our catcher into Rob Bowen. And that's not even counting the requisite DL trip for Soriano plus whatever other crap happens, which at this point I'm pretty sure will be plenty.

I'm sure it's been mentioned, but I think we can safely blame Ramirez' injury on Butters.

This is what happens when you start a game thread too early.

Damnit, butters.
