call me crazy, but i'd be just fine with psycho t.

I agree. Low-ceiling, but at that draft spot, you'd know you're getting someone who'll come in and do what you know he can do. There's no mystery with TH. He'll be a serviceable bench player/energy guy.

Isn't Hansborough just sort of a white Joakim Noah though?

Maybe energy-wise but Noah is/will be a far superior defender and better rebounder, thanks in part to his athleticism and size.

I'd be fine with a high-floor guy like Hansbrough at 16 as well.

Agreed. Hansbrough is a better offensive player, though. I think the two could end up complementing each other even.

and hansbrough is a far more polished offensive player than noah ever will be. i like his energy on the offensive end and his presence on the offensive boards. i think that he could be a starter on a good basketball team.

Damn it, I've been saying for about a year and a half that Hansbrough is exactly the kind of guy the Bulls would pick, and now they're gonna go do it.

And I'll freely admit that my irrational/biased dislike of Hansbrough is reason 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 why I don't want him on the Bulls as opposed to any real basketball reason.

Hansbrough is a guy that is going to have a 10-12 year career and get 13 and 8 for you on a pretty consistent basis, with the ability to put up more. Not going to change your team around, but I like the Luis Scola comparison. He has more offensive game than Najera and Madsen.

Derrick Rose released the following statement via the Chicago Bulls:

"Recently, a photo has been circulating on the Internet which appears to depict me flashing a gang sign. This photo of me was taken at a party I attended in Memphis while I was in school there, and was meant as a joke…a bad one, I now admit. I want to emphatically state, now and forever, that Derrick Rose is anti-gang, anti-drug, and anti-violence. I am not, nor have I ever been, affiliated with any gang and I can’t speak loudly enough against gang violence, and the things that gangs represent.

"In posing for this picture, I am guilty of being young, naive and of using extremely poor judgment. I sincerely apologize to all my fans for my mistake. I pride myself on being a good citizen, and role model, that young people can look up to and I want to urge all my young fans to stay away from gangs and gang-related activities."

Weird. He's having quite an offseason so far.

More Shaq to Bulls for Deng rumors:

Suns Interested In Luol Deng

Jun 15, 2009 4:19 PM EST

Another scenario that would see Shaquille O'Neal leaving Phoenix would be a trade with Chicago involving Luol Deng.

The Arizona Republic wrote late Sunday of a rumor that involved the Suns getting Deng, Tim Thomas and another player for O'Neal.

The Bulls would be able to make a little noise in the East with O'Neal in the paint, while also freeing up cap room for 2010. That would allow them to make a play for Chicago native Dwyane Wade or another member of the class.

Phoenix originally selected Deng in the 2004 NBA Draft as part of a trade with Chicago.

Tom Waddle: "What are the chances of you coming back to Chicago?

Wade: "If I could say one thing I would say that I'm blessed to be in a position where I have options. I thank god for those options. 2010, free agency only comes up once so I'm going to make sure that I think about this and do it right. Of course I love Miami, this is where I built my career at. Chicago is always the place I'm from, there's going to be talk about that, of course, but right now I'm trying to do what I can to make sure that the team that I'm on be as good as we can be. When it's time for me to think about it, then I will do just that."

Marc Silverman: "Any chance at all about coming back with Derrick Rose?"

Wade: "Derrick Rose is a great, great player. He's a point guard of the future. I can't say there's a chance, I'm still in a Miami Heat uniform. I'm not ruling anything out as well. I'm making sure I'm keeping my options open."

Silvy: "You're not ruling out Chicago?"

Wade: "I'm not ruling out a lot of places, but I'm not really thinking about those places either. Like I said, 2010 is the year when I will sit down and open up my options and, hopefully, I'm still blessed and healthy to have those options and then go from there. But Miami is my number one option and I've made that clear. That's where I want to be and, hopefully, we can get everything right here in Miami."

They also asked him something to the effect of.. "So Chicago is on the short list?" and he answered, "It's on the very, very short list."

Lol he basically did everything he could in that interview to get Wade to say he wants to play for the Bulls, but Wade wouldnt bite. I dont blame Wade as nothing good would come out of it for him right now, but man he was being pressured.

Yeah, I get the feeling that Wade is putting pressure on Miami to get him so help or he'll bolt, but he is doing is politely.

Id be ok with Hansbrough too. I think he has a nice midrange shot and it will only get better, he didnt really need to use it in college. The midranger is important for the pick and roll with Rose, TH cant put it on the floor very well but either can Brad Miller and Brad is actually a decent fit for this offense because of his midranger. Hansbrough doesnt have the height as Brad but he is better around the basket offensively and rebounding wise. I see Tyler and Noah complimenting each other games in the frontcourt. This team is about Rose and i see Tyler complimenting him well (not as well as Chris Bosh but he aint in the draft :) ). Ellington is another guy i like if available at 26. The guy is really freaking good at shooting off the dribble which is necessary for a SG in the NBA, maybe hes not a uber slashing high flying SG but Rose is going to be breaking the defense down with penetration. Ellington can create his own shot outside, another compliment to Rose's game.

Finding guys that work well with Rose and this offense i view as the #1 key element, striclty talent isnt what im looking for.

Stoudemire to the Wolves for Jefferson and the #6 pick is being rumored. Not sure why the Wolves would do that one. I wouldn't trade Jefferson for Amare straight up at this point (unless you think Jefferson's knee isn't going to be healthy in which case I wouldn't do that if I were Phoenix).

Edit: Bloops, here's the link http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/59885/20090618/jefferson_for_stoudemire_in_the_works/

Already been shot down...

Jefferson staying put with Wolves

Link|Comments (0) Posted by Marc J. Spears, Globe Staff June 18, 2009 11:21 AM

An NBA source said today that Minnesota forward-center Al Jefferson is not being traded to the Suns with the sixth overall pick for Suns All-Star forward Amare Stoudemire. An NBA executive told The Globe on Wednesday that the teams discussed the trade. But another source acknowledged the discussion, but also said the Suns were quickly turned down. The source added that the Wolves new general manager David Kahn has even called Jefferson, an ex-Celtic, to tell him the trade would not happen. As for Stoudemire, the cost-cutting Suns definitely seem interesting in moving him and his hefty salary.
