So two out of the last 3 games, our starters have smoked hitters early on and then gotten lit up...you don't see that very often...

Now let's get some runs!

Cubs defense has been shizz so far this year

Outside of the Lilly start, the starting pitching has been nothing to write home about either.

Harden's first start was pretty damn good.

Oh yeah. I guess I forgot that after his sparkling performance on Wednesday.

Wait! What the hell just happened. I step away for a little bit and come back it's 4-3.

Edit: Ludwick? Dear lord!

Seriously every time so far in this series the umps have blown a call it has cost the Cubs runs. Duncan didn't get rung up on a strike then hits a home run, the horrible call on Bradley with bases loaded, the strike out Patton should have had that resulted in two more runs and now this.

"Wrong" does not mean "close and not in the Cubs' favor"

It doesn't matter if it's close; the wrong call is still the wrong call. If a player is out by 3 feet or an inch he's still out.

And at least half the calls you listed weren't wrong, including the most recent one in this inning.

I can handle losing, I'm used to it. But the repeated "wasted opportunities" thing gets REALLY old fast.

The nice thing is that this is the sort of losing that is usually short-term. Teams that are just wasting opportunities usually come storming back later in the season. Teams that are getting flat-out beat are just going to keep losing.

For the season this is how the Cubs have done with them loaded

4/8

T1 0 outs Ramirez, single, RBI

T1 0 outs Fontenot, single, RBI

T1 0 outs Theriot, single, RBI

T1 0 outs Hill, GIDP

T5 2 outs Ramirez, double, 2 RBI

4/11

T7 0 outs Hoffpauir K

T7 1 out Soriano, FC (should have been GIDP), RBI

4/12

T4 1 out Hill, BB, RBI

T4 1 out Dempster, GO

T4 2 outs Soriano, BB, RBI

T4 2 outs Fukudome, BB, RBI

T4 2 outs Lee, BB, RBI

T4 2 outs Johnson, GO

4/13

B2 0 outs Miles, PO

B2 1 out Hill, BB, RBI

B2 1 out Lilly, K

B2 2 outs Soriano, K

B3 2 outs Miles, PO

B5 2 outs Theriot, FO

4/16

B6 1 out Bradley, K

B6 2 outs Soriano, FO

4/17

B2 0 outs Soriano, K

B2 1 out Fukudome, Sac Fly, RBI

B2 2 outs Lee, K

12 runs scored in 9 loaded attempts. Anyone know if that's good? Seems kinda weird that there's only been one multiple RBI at bat this year with the bases loaded.

The Cubs are the worst team in the history of Major League Baseball. It was proven last inning.

Now you're catching on!

Hey, try being an Indians fan right now. Our pitching has been ridiculously bad. :(
