Got your attention?

After reading: 20-year contract to pay the New York Mets $400 million to name the team's new stadium "Citi Field."

Sorry guys I'm all about tradition and I would HATE to see the name changed but if it could bring in this kind of $$$$ I'm all about it. For 20M a year I don't care if you call it "Crackhead Field"! ----- I should add I would only be for this as long as the 20M was put back into the payroll and Hendry didn't get to sign the player/s the money could buy.

So really you're only in favor of it in a completely hypothetical situation?

You should have titled the thread "SEX".

And then said "got your attention?"

And then we'd vote you in as junior class treasurer.

Not only does he have a misleading thread title, which tends to not fly here, but then he has the audacity to make the thread about changing Wrigley Field to Whoever Spent the Most Field. :flame:

How about Wrigley Apple Depends Motrin Ben Gay Ross Perot Field? Just think of the combined advertising haul!!!!

**shoots self**

Or Mark Cuban could buy the naming rights. SUCK. ON. THIS. FIELD. Complete with Gary Condit standing outside to greet the fans every day. Just to make sure the message is clear.

This is simple: You weigh the erosion of your brand against the extra revenue. There's no one-size-fits-all answer.

If it's something reasonably natural sounding and you don't have a lot of history attached, sell away. In Wrigley's case, or if someone wanted to name a field Tampax Field, then it needs to be a lot more money to overcome the negatives.

A billion dollars is a lot of money.

This thread sucks.

OK your avatar cracks me up. It really shouldn't make me laugh but that kid just moves really weird.

Anyways the day Wrigley Field changes its name is the day the Cubs sold their soul.

I wouldn't get up for going to Cialis Field to watch the Cubs play.

Would all the seats be replaced with outdoor his/hers bathtubs?

Yeah, but unfortunately, it would also be the end of frequent day baseball.

Every day, the first pitch would simply be listed as "when the right moment comes along," though the players would all be out there, prepared to play when given the go-ahead.
