2-0 Ducks?

yes?

Just seems weird.

huh? why?

There was a bit of a consensus among hockey fans that the Wings had pretty much figured out Anaheim and would destroy them tonight.

And that the Ducks were beaten and worn down. Either way 7 games in this series is the best thing to happen regardless for the Hawks.

I know I'm not the only one who's loving that we have three Game 7's in this round.

Holy Jeebus this is a lot of new posts...

I am now ALMOST a licensed Paramedic, just got a 93% on my Final and have to register for the National Exam! Really stoked too... I watched the Ducks beat the Wings tonight with all of my classmates!

I don't care who wins game 7, either series is going to be good.

Will be excellent if we win our double header in softball tomorrow to start the season ;) But other than that I have zero complaints about the first two days of this week!

Congrats Cyno.

We've got a great couple of nights of Game 7s before the real fun starts now.

I still can't get past wanting to face Detroit. Especially since the Ducks are no easy out anyway.

Go Ducks!!!

I asked about the Hawks overtaking the Wings in the near future, people mentioned cap decisions. I gotta believe the Wings aren't immune to this as well, I don't have the numbers in front of me but, its probably safe to say every team will be faced with tough cap decisions. What offers me encouragement is the Wings don't have a young core such as the Hawks, they're still highly skilled and probably the best team in the NHL. Yet, many of their key players are 30+ old additionally, from what I've seen their farm system ranks amongst the lower third in NHL whereas, the Hawks' is in the top ten. In the past Illict was able to buy the best team, with the cap in place it severely limits his ability to do so which means more of reliance on the farm system where the Hawks have the edge.

I hope their game tomorrow goes to 5 OTs.

Looks like we have to wait til Sunday for Blackhawks hockey.

I don't like how much rest they're giving the participants of game 7s... Conference Finals should start on Saturday at the latest.

Weren't the Blackhawks the first to start round 2 despite being among the last to end round 1?

I think theirs was the 4th series to end, after Detroit, Vancouver and Boston. Two of the series went 7, and Anaheim/SJ and Pittsburgh/Philly weren't decided until the next day.

I'd laugh if Detroit beat the Ducks and came in here and swept the hawks. Careful what you ask for, you just might get it.

yes because everyone here is so obviously guaranteeing that the hawks are going to dominate the wings.

Either way, it's going to be a brutal series. I wouldn't laugh if it happened, but I'm worried about everyone hoping we face Anaheim and then having them come in here and kill us.

I don't know if I want home ice. The Hawks have had a tendency over the last few months to be very jittery at home. I'm concerned about leaving the UC down 2-0 to Anaheim. I am much more confident in the Hawks' ability to steal one up in Detroit and get used to their speed, then come home and let the home crowd help them.

I know. I was thinking about Anaheim today. Everyone's saying "I want the Ducks!!"

Think about what they are doing to Detroit right now. They're taking the Wings right to the wall.

That's no pushover team. The 8 seed means nothing right now, they're pretty darn good.

The handled the Sharks pretty easily too. I would still rather face them but it will be a touch series regardless of who you play.

It's a matter of matchups. The Ducks are designed to beat Detroit, that's almost player-for-player what they are buiilt for. As skilled as Detroit is, we are just a little bit faster than the Red Wings, and that could be all the difference against a team like Anaheim.

Against Detroit, we are only a little faster and they are a little more skilled and a lot more defensively sound. Not nearly as desirable a matchup.

It's not the quality of Anaheim that makes me want to play them, it's the style.

Does NBC start doing prime time games in the CF or do they wait to do that until the Cup finals?

I THINK they split the games? Could be wrong, though.

Cyno, did you see somewhere that the WCF wouldn't start until Sunday? That would be great for me, since I have family in town all weekend and wouldn't be able to get away from them to watch the game.

I hope it starts Saturday and the ECF starts Sunday (the two game 7s getting the extra days rest). That would be logical but I heard this morning that it looks like they'll go Sunday.

We'll know after tomorrow night!
