Anybody here Phillips talk about needing to bring Marshall in at the beginning of an inning because hes a starting pitcher? Yea Steve, Marshall has never came out of the pen in the middle of an inning...

Seriously...great inning by Marshall. Not because he got results, but because he attacked the hitters and threw strikes early in the count. Didn't hurt that he was locating his breaking pitches, but he threw a strike to each batter on the first pitch in that inning. It seemed like the Brewers strategy after last night was to be patient and hope the Cubs pen self destructed with wild control, and Marshall didn't let that happen.

CUBS are 14-2 when they draw 8 BBs or more in the game.

 

 

Go CUBS !!

 

Even more impressive is that 16 times last year, they had 8 or more BB's. I like this new Cub approach.
