I dont think thats true. Opening day is about a week later than normal this year.

 

It's been true for at least several years.

 

Yup, I remember watching the Cubs crushing the DBacks in 2005 and then watching the Illini in the NC game. (sorry for the reminder Illini fans)

 

That was an expensive day. Had to get in a bar by 3:00 before they capped entry. Then the game was cancelled.
