This would be so much more fun if more players cared, and if it could be played in a bubble where everybody was in mid season game shape.

Yessah! David Wright with the walkoff 2-run single, USA wins 6-5 and advances to the semis!

That was a great game.

That was awesome! I left after PR scored the 5th run, but turned it back on to see 2 on and no outs.

Hopefully Peavy can find his good stuff in the semis.

There's a couple of reasons that prove the WBC isn't important:

-Javy Vazquez pitching well in a 'big game' on Saturday.

-David Wright getting a clutch hit.

On the other hand:

-Ted Lilly giving up long bombs

-Fukucopters

True but the most important of those four points was that Wright got a clutch hit sending us to the semis. So by that logic, this whole thing is a farce.

i wish fukudome was good like everyone thought he'd be

I was very skeptical of his abilities. I think most people wanted him so they could put FUKUDOME on a Cubs Jersey. I don't think most people even knew that he was injured the season before coming to the Cubs.

That said, here's to hoping he can be at least mediocre this season.

There were many "experts" (whatever that means) who predicted he'd be good. I don't think it was unreasonable to expect more from him, despite his injury the season before.

That or the other big FA outfielder was Aaron "I've only had two good years" Rowand.
