It is not over guys.

NFL Network's Scott Hanson reports that free agent Brett Favre "will continue to throw and work out" despite telling Vikings coach Brad Childress Tuesday that he wanted to stay retired.

You've got to be kidding. Favre reportedly said he's still not totally sure about whether he'll stay retired or try to play, even after "confirming" he'd re-re-retire to Childress and in an ESPN interview. Asked by Steve Mariucci how he'd feel about his decision on Wednesday morning, Favre replied "I'm wondering that myself." It wouldn't shock us one bit if Favre "gets the itch" again and tries to come back late in camp or even after the season kicks off.

NO!

They need to tell him he either comes for the entirety of camp or he's no longer welcome. Especially after telling the offensive coordinator and head coach and everyone that he's done.

See? The only way I'll believe he's retired is when he's been gone for years. Until then, he's always going to be treating someone like a giant yo-yo.

Welcome to the Packers' nightmare, Minny. :D)

It's nice to be on the other side of the coin.

The Vikings front office and coaching staff can say all they want how the Favre fiasco won't hold a distraction over the team. There's no question in my mind that part of our struggles last year were due to the whole Favre saga that was ongoing in training camp. You can bet that if Jackson or Rosenfels get off to a bad start, the Favre questions will be coming full steam.

I'm just glad another organization is going through this. If you play with a guy that just seeks attention and only cares about himself, you deserve to let this happen to you. The best thing the Vikings can do is to tell everyone that they have no interest in Favre and that it doesn't matter if he's still working out; he's not coming to Minnesota. That doesn't appear to be happening as Childress seems hell-bent on wanting Favre in purple.

Is the Favre love already returning for GB fans?

Not for me. It's going to take a lot of time to heal those wounds.

Looking back at the situation Thompson did what was right for the organization. It was time to move on with a young core and young quarterback. I just wish that it didn't have to end as badly as it did. Once Thompson is gone, the Favre's and the organization will mend fences and everyone in Wisconsin will pretend like last summer never happened.

From what I've read, they have pretty much taken that approach. When he told Childress he's not coming back, they've shut the door on it because they know they can't drag it out.

The only way the Vikings would leave the door open is if both Rosenfels and Jackson have major injuries during the year. My hope is that now that it's all wrapped up before training camp, it shouldn't be much of a distraction once they get going.

Or if they suck. Or if Favre calls the day after two-a-days end.

Sonofa just when i thought he was gone for good the door remains a touch open. I should of known better. The guys is unbelievably indecisive. Vikings please just give Brett the middle finger, do it for you own good.

ZachZaidman: Word out of minnesota is that Tavaris Jackson has MCL knee sprain

Sage Rosenfels, come on down

(Brad Childress is on his way to Mississippi, on his knees begging and pleading his case to Favre to come back.)

Just got back inside after Minnesota's sole practice of the day. Quarterback Tarvaris Jackson was again nowhere to be seen during practice, but after the session he emerged from the locker room limping noticeably and wearing a brace on his left knee. He rode on a golf cart from the locker room to the team's dormitories and declined to speak with the media.

I guess stranger things have happened, but that's not the scene you typically see from a player who is close to returning to the practice field. Normally, such players are on the field working on conditioning and rehabilitation during practice. So, while Jackson is officially day-to-day, it's fair to wonder how much time will pass before the day of his return arrives.

Shame about Jackson, I was hoping he'd win the opportunity to run that team into the ground.

Yeah, I'd rather see Jackson than Rosenfels.

Rosenfels is more turnover prone though. Either way, they're going to have some problems there.

They have similar turnover numbers over the course of their careers. Rosenfels has 40 turnovers (fumbles and INTs) in 32 games and Jackson has 32 turnovers in 25 games.

However, Jackson had 7 turnovers (2 INTs) in 9 games last year, while Rosenfels had 14 turnovers (10 INTs) in 6 games. Jackson is 5 years younger than Rosenfels and probably has more room for improvement. I'd go with Jackson.

It was featured on Arrested Development for an episode or two as well.
