Geez, I got PM'd by three people.

Gotta keep the process going. :D

Warpticon and the Dolphins are now on the clock. I PMd him (and we'll see how many others did as well, I guess).

No sign of Warp for the past 24 hours, so I guess I'll make the selection.

The Dolphins seem to have a strong need in the secondary, with very little depth and - in my opinion - not the best of starters.

So, the Dolphins select Sherrod Martin, CB/S, from Troy. Martin is very athletic and physical and has the ability to play safety or corner, giving the Fins some flexibility as to where they want to play him.

WrigleyField 22 and the Ravens are now on the clock. I'll PM him.

ELCABALLO has authorized me to go ahead and make the selection for him, so here we go.

The Patriots really don't have many needs left at this point, so they'll go with the best player left on the board.

So, the Patriots select WR Brandon Tate from North Carolina. It's amazing that Tate fell this far, as he's probably got mid-late 2nd round value. The Pats are certainly deep at WR - especially after signing Joey Galloway - but Galloway's only got a couple years at best left and Moss has a little age on him. Behind Moss, Welker and Galloway, there's not much, so Tate would be the fourth receiver for a while.

Atlanta and Vanilla Ice are now on the clock. I will PM him.

In a defense, defense, defense draft for the Falcons, The Atlanta Falcons select S Michael Hamlin out of Clemson. We need help at that position after Milloy left. This is the third consecutive pick in this mock draft that the Falcons take defense. I briefly thought about Iglesias at WR.

You took the pick I was about to make for the Giants and are now forcing me to take the player I envisioned for the Titans' pick this round. Thanks a lot.

Anyway, after discussion with Skyballer, the Giants select CB Coye Francies out of San Diego State. Francies needs some development, but has pretty decent potential and the Giants need some youth and depth in the secondary.

CCP and Exile are now on the clock. I will PM them.

I will like usual wait for Exile to give his advice first.

I probably know less about the players down this far than he does, but I think the Colts probably should go either WR or LB in this spot. I see certain prospects in both positions that seem like Colt players. I'm not sure which one will more likely have a good player available with one of the Colts 4th rounders.

I'd agree on the positions. Not sure I agree that I know more.

I feel like guessing what Polian would do here is an exercise in futility. I could see any number of positions, and which linebacker is especially difficult to predict. I wouldn't be surprised by secondary or even another offensive lineman. I do doubt the latter since Jeff Saturday was signed, but I'm still more bearish about the line than most, I think.

At WR I'd guess Juaquin Iglesias. He's not the fastest but is a good route runner with good hands. That's pretty much the current prototype for Colts WR's (unless you think they need to supplement with a deep threat or a taller redzone target). Linebacker is a little more difficult for me -- honestly, who is the fastest LB left on the board? Those deserving mention, at least, include Zack Follet, Jason Williams, Gerald McRath, Jason Philips, et al. I would lean towards Follet, who is tough, pretty fast, rushes the passer pretty well and is a good tackler. I think the latter attributes will be in demand with a slightly tweaked (?) defense under Caldwell/Coyer. As between the two positions, I'm not really sure. It might be easier to find a comparable LB in the next round, but the Colts have even less depth there than at WR I'd say. I'm deferring again to you (though I'm deferring a more difficult decision here).

Follett would definitely be a change from the Colts defense now. He is supposed to be stiff and not play fast. I think Gerald McRath would be the most likely best LB pick here, but it really depends on how the Colts are looking at their defense at this point. And I agree with you that this is when Polian just starts drafting any position he wants so there is little chance we get this right.

With that said, there are multiple LB's that might fit, but I have had my eye on one WR most of the round. The Colts love to grab the same type of WR over and over again and use them interchangeably in their routes. Gonzalez is better as an outside receiver and so the Colts could really use somebody that could step in today as their slot receiver, and they don't need a receiver with a huge upside as Wayne and Gonzalez still have years left in them.

So the Colts select Juaquin Iglesias, University of Oklahoma.

Andy has been PM'd.

Apologize as it often seems I have to get the last word.

I would've gone Iglesias here, too, so we agree. He's solid and the Colts shouldn't have to wait long for him to develop. As you said, they don't need Randy Moss. They just need another competent WR.

I've heard conflicting reports on Follet. He didn't seem stiff when I've seen him, but I've certainly read that in scouting reports (and that he sometimes struggles in coverage). I've also read that he's explosive to the ball. So who knows. If there's a question, though, he's not much of a fit, you're right.

I was strongly considering Iglesias for the upcoming Titans pick. I really like him, so I definitely think you made the right choice here. McGrath is a nice LB as well, one I considered for the Titans' second round pick.

But thanks for making my choice easier with the next pick. Now I just have to hope Andy doesn't take the top player on my board.

Carolina ran some wildcat last year with DeAngelo Williams. With their third-round pick, they'll take a guy who can run some more of it: QB Pat White from West Virginia. He can also jump in as a RB or a WR on occasion. Carolina loves guys they can move around a lot (Steve Smith, Williams).

Yet again the Titans find themselves stymied from taking a receiver or corner worth the current pick and so we move on to another position.

So, the Titans select center Jonathan Luigs from Arkansas. Luigs is a terrific talent who just needs to bulk up a bit and develop some. He may well be the third or fourth best center in the draft and is certainly in line with the Eric Wood/Antoine Caldwell/AQ Shipley group. For the Titans, Luigs further deepens a line that needs a bit more depth and he becomes the heir apparent for current center Kevin Mawae, who probably only has a couple years of productivity left. This pick allows Leroy Harris to become a fulltime guard and Eugene Amano a fulltime backup - both moves that make the line better.

Flames and CubsFanNotBudMan are now on the clock for the Cardinals' pick. I will PM them.

AI went ahead and PMd me his pick for this round, so here's what he said.

My priority pick is David Bruton, S, Notre Dame. The Steelers have addressed their line issues with their first two picks, and they need secondary help. Receiver could also be the selection here, but I expect Limas Sweed to step up and overcome his horrible rookie year. Not to get sidetracked, but the Steelers won the Super Bowl without any real contributions from their first and second round picks last season. Scary.

The Patriots are now on the clock.

I'll go ahead and handle the Pats' compensatory pick as well.

New England really has no strong needs left. The Pats could go with a RB here as there are still some good ones on the board, but they go with the best player available instead.

So, the Pats select DT/DE Chris Baker out of Hampton. Baker can play DT or DE and provides depth and youth to the Patriot line that doesn't appear to be overflowing with either. Baker has had some issues in the past, but likely nothing Belichick can't handle.

Cincinnati and Rocket are now on the clock with the next compensatory pick. I'll PM him.

I like the Baker pick. Nice pick.

By the way, are people up for a fourth round? I know I would be. I'd even take on extra teams if there are guys who want to drop their current teams because they're not interested. This keeps me occupied at work.

I'm all for it, but I can also understand lessening interest because we're getting into lesser known players.

I think we'll have enough interest for a fourth round, but if anybody wants to drop out, let me know and we can spread out the teams a bit.

I'm game for a 4th round. If I had thought to look before picking, I would have chosen differently knowing that SD only had 2 picks in the 1st three rounds.

Well if any team drops out feel free to distribute them my way. I don't really have any preference, I'll take any team.

Yeah, I never thought about that either. I just realized a few days ago that Pacman cost the Titans a fifth round pick, but luckily we got a compensatory pick in that round.
