I just added this to my last post but since its at the bottom of the page:

Free agent WR Drew Bennett will work out with the Bucs on Tuesday.

He's likely competing with fellow veteran D.J. Hackett, who is also working out on Tuesday. The Bucs are seeking a veteran upgrade at third receiver.

That's per rotoworld as usual. Plax's options could be very limited soon.

Personally, I don't see the Bears having enough to pull off a Brandon Marshall trade (boy, oh boy that would be great, and be the perfect ending to a wonderful offseason), unless the Bears dip into the 2011 draft picks. We see how well that has worked for Washington.

I do agree with the poster who said the Broncos "must" keep Marshall, or McDaniels and the Broncos lose a lot of credibility. Now with that said, I believe Marshall becomes an UFA next yr (or RFA if not CBA is agreed upon) so his time in Denver is prolly coming to an end, at least to Marshall himself.

brandon marshall is a maniac. plax is just an idiot. granted, that idiot could have hurt or killed someone, but he hasn't shown the same blatant antisocial behavior that marshall has shown, not by a longshot.

Broncos sign Brandon Lloyd

I would've liked to keep him around, but I'm still holding my breath for Plax. I wonder if Denver is preparing to finalize a Marshall deal.

While I do agree that the timing of a Lloyd signing is abit odd (the same day that Marshall requests a trade), I wouldn't put much stock in it yet. I know Denver doesn't want to go through another "drama fill" couple of weeks about Marshall, so Denver and McDaniels could deem Marshall as a player who doesn't fit the "McDaniels plan" and cut bait with him and basically build the offense around Moreno, Schleffer and Royal. This would be the capper of a great offseason for the Bears, and a crappy offseason for the Broncos if such a deal happens.

With that said, I don't know if Denver really wants to trade it's two best offensive players in the same offseason. And I do not see Denver getting a first rd pick as part of a package either. Consider this (correct me if I am wrong) but there have been at least two trades in the last 30 years in which a WR fetch his old team a first rd pick as part of the deal: Dave Casper (Raiders to the Oilers in 1980) and Roy Williams (Detroit to Dallas last yr). So I am wondering if Marshall could be had for Bennett and a 2nd, or a 2nd and a 4th, or a 2nd in '10 and 2011.

This could get interesting.

I guess it's appropriate to ask at this point: does anyone know if he's kept himself in shape? He's been out of football for a bit.

No way of knowing, but it hasn't really been that long. No longer than Tom Brady. It's not a Vick situation where he's been in prison for a year. Presumably he's had to do some rehab work, but I don't know.

I've read this at a few places, take it for what it's worth:

Training camps open in late July, and Burress' attorney, Benjamin Brafman, said his client is in "the best shape ever. He's ready to play. He's been diligently training and working out."

Plus, I think there's plenty of time for him to get in shape if he wasn't.

That's sort of a funny post. It states that Angelo (or someone else) called Rosenhaus. It doesn't necessarily read that the topic of conversation was Burress. Maybe all they did was discuss how inexplicably smoking hot Megan Fox is.

Twitter is apparently changing sports reporting now, making it even more bits & pieces and even less comprehensive & solid.

That twitter bit is just from Brad Biggs column today saying that the Bears are one of 4 teams to call Rosenhaus.

To whom it may concern. Life is filled with change, and where I am in my life now change is probably best. It’s hard leaving an organization ran by one of the best owners in all of sports, and someone who’s been there for me through my ups and downs. The hardest thing was hearing Mr. B wish me luck in the future, but we both came to the conclusion that this is probably the best thing for me to grow on and off the field. I thank the Denver fans who embraced my emotion and play on the field and showing me love everytime I step outside my door.

From Marshall's blog/twitter or something.

I'm surprised you guys would want 2 guys who are virtually Terrell Owens clones. Great on the field, horrible off the field.

Really all that matters to me. Marshall is the 3rd best WR in the game, IMO (Fitzgerald, A Johnson). Plaxico is still a top 10-15 WR, who has clearly demonstrated that he can carry an offense and make big plays. You take a little more off the field stuff with that kind of talent. If not, then Ced Benson would still be a Bear.

I'm leery of Brandon Marshall because he has some serious issues. Plax is just one of the dumbest people in the NFL by all accounts. I think shooting himself is an isolated incident, and I think the issues with him missing practice and sleeping thru meetings will be nonexistant with the looming uncertainty with his career and a likely 1-year deal.

Marshall is one punch from being out of the league for the rest of the year, and I don't think he can control himself. He's worse than Pacman Jones.
