I hope Jay Cutler is also a great receiver, offensive lineman, and every position on defense.

HAHA bitter Packer fan face, I LOVE IT!

I realize I am really late in reading this, but after being called a Packer fan I have never been so offended.

Well with that ridiculous comment I could only assume you were a Packer fan. If thats not the case, then it must just be that you dont know much about the Bears or football.

Anybody watched NFL Live tonight? I swear it was a rerun of Thursday's episode, but apparently, seeing as theyshow Jay's press conference. You would think 24 hours after the trade maybe, just maybe Schlereth would research the topic a little more and be more informed about his opinions, but apparently not. This guy is sticking to his guns. If Schlereth doesn't like the trade be a man and say it, but his "opinions" is so frustrating because it is uninformed.

Oh well, put up 4,000 yrds in 09 Cutler, and make Schlereth eat his words.

Allow me to imitate Cutler giving an interview:

You know, blah blah blah Denver, you know. You know, blah blah trade blah blah you know relieved blah blah, you know. Blah blah you know, Bears now, blah blah excited you know.

Sounds like a typical athlete interview in a situation after just switching teams.

You know, I sorta agree, you know.

he's about as photogenic as some of the people around here.

The dude looks nothing like a Pro Bowl QB. At least he looks better throwing the ball:

I rather him do the typical "athlete interview" instead of causing contreversy on his first with the club.

What does a Pro Bowl QB supposed to look like?

You know, if Plax wasn't dumb as a rock, I'd take a flyer on him for a year.

But his "actions" really scares alot of teams, I would imagine. But if Plax was signed as a Bear, the NFC N is almost all Chicago's to lose. Even that, w/o Plax, it's still all Chicago. I don't think any other teams in the NFC N actually improved, if at all.

I don't think Plax is stupid, misguided, but not stupid. With that said, if the Patriots can get Randy Moss to toe the line in New England, the Bears could have a chance with Plax. Besides all the Bears would need Plax for is about 2 yrs. This way both Hester, Bennett, and Olsen can developed as playmakers without having to carry the offense. After two yr, this should further enough along that the training wheels can come off.

By no means, I am calling Plax stupid. Just making dumb decisions. I mean, literally, how the hell can you shoot yourself through your leg? Either way, the question is, is Chicago willing to shell out a money to a very talented guy, yet, may hinder the team's progress towards a common goal? And on top of that, he may have to sit out at least 4 games because of his actions that occured last season.

Still, it's a intruging though. Personally though, I'd see how Holt could do, although he is a injury risk. Not sure what Oucho Cinco would cost. Marvin Harrison (last I checked) is still available, IIRC, but may or may not have legal issues as well, on top of that, his declining health.

No, call him stupid. From all accounts, Plaxico is an idiot. And this has nothing to do with him shooting himself. Being in Pittsburgh, I have met people that have met him. I have met people that know people that know him. And to a man, everyone that has ever met Plaxico Burress has confessed him as being one of the most unintelligent people they have ever met.

Cutler looked like a Bear yesterday.

We're the Grabowski's, remember? We don't look good for the cameras.

The bigger problem is, neckbeard just doesn't look like a Bronco.

The funny thing is most of these guys were blasting the Bears after the draft last year for not picking a QB because they needed one to build the team around. Now the Bears cash in draft picks to get a QB they can build the team around and get blasted because they have a QB but less draft picks.

To me it is definitely worth the price. If the Bears were interested in Sanchez they would have had to give up at least their #1 and #3 this year to move up to get him. This way they give up the #1 and #3 plus a #1 next year but they get a guy that is further along the learning curve and who they know can play and play well at the NFL level. The additional #1 is worth getting a sure thing instead of a guy that could flame out (like Cade McNown). Losing Kyle Orton is a non-factor, if they were bringing in a guy to be #1 instead of him his value becomes minimal anyway.

The Bears are coming together beautifully this offseason. For the most part the line is fixed and should be average to possibly above average depending on Pace and Williams/Shaffer's play. The QB and RB positions are set with a pro bowler and future pro bowler IMO. And I truly believe Angelo will bring in a WR through FA. It will be a sight to see when Hester isn't overthrown deep.

Angelo drafting defense in the later rounds has always been his strength, I have confidence he can bring in a starter at S/DE/DT as well as some strong rotational play. I don't see the Bears missing the playoffs. I'm more excited for the Bears right now than I am with the Cubs.

in one day Angelo takes a meh off-season to AWESOME status

its a big risk but hell, I think we've finally gotten a QB that is gonna stick around for sometime and be awesome

lets get some receivers and fix that defense now

You want to shut up guys like Schlereth, remind him of the John Elway trade.

Broncos send: Mark Hermann (a fourth rd QB from Purdue) ,Chris Hinton and Ron Solt (two frist rd picks in the 1984 draft)

Colts send: John Elway.

You notice the similarity between the Elway to the Broncos and Cutler to the Bears trades? The Broncos took a bigger risk then the Bears, because at the time of the trade Elway wasn't proven as NFL QB.

The only guys at ESPN that seems to approve of the deal from the Bears perspective are Mike Golic and Mike Greenberg.

Really? Is it that ridiculous to be concerned that the upgrade at quarterback might not help enough to offset the poor group of receivers, questionable offensive line, and average and aging defense? It is also reasonable to doubt that Cutler will be a perennial All Pro with the Bears. I hope it happens, but I don't think it's the slam dunk like most seem to think.
