Yeah I think the Big Ten did alright in the bowls. We expected the Iowa game to be closer. We expected the Penn State game to be a blow out. We expected tonight's to be a blow out and the Missouri game to be a blowout. N'western, Iowa and Ohio State performed better than our expectations. Penn State did as expected.

Oh, and these stupid excessive celebration penalties on touchdowns with only a few seconds left have to stop being called. If they go after the other team to celebrate, then by all means throw a flag. But if it's a bunch of teammates jumping around for a while, just let it go.

To be fair, Cosby dove into the endzone when he scored. I know for a fact that a dive into the endzone now results into an excessive celebration penalty. And yes, I think that rule is a complete joke.

That game was pretty dull and listless for the first three quarters but the 4th quarter was great. I wouldn't look at it as the Big Ten doing 'better than expected' but the Big 12 is doing much worse than expected. Outside of Kansas, they've struggled in all of their bowls. Texas looked real average on offense for most of the game and gave up 21 points to an Ohio State team that struggled to score any points against the two legitimate teams they played this year. Missouri was fortunate that Northwestern kicked to Macklin going into halftime, Texas Tech was rolled by Ole Miss, and Oklahoma State gave up a boatload to Oregon. I think it's safe to admit that there really is no clear-cut favorite for the best conference in the land.

I'm really pulling for the Sooners on Thursday, but today's 'performance' by Texas is making me a little worried about that one.

The play calling for Texas sucked last night for a big portion of the game. McCoy's running ability really helped to stretch the defense the entire season, yet we saw none of that the first half. The hurry up was critical towards Texas winning the game, but they still didn't stretch the field like they have this year and were pretty much counting on the receivers to net a bunch of YAC.

I'm happy to see Cosby go out on a high note. He was the MVP last night, not McCoy.

I only saw the 4th quarter, but my god, Buckeyes, tackle McCoy in the backfield when you have the chance! He was shedding tacklers left and right back there

Without a doubt.

At least we can now all agree that the idea that Texas is better than USC is utterly laughable 8-)

That's a given considering USC blew out Ohio State and Penn State who beat Ohio State (who Texas could barely beat).

One away game that they weren't up for cost USC the National Championship.

USC 35 - 10 over Texas.

GMAC Bowl tonight. I picked Tulsa in the pick 'em leagues. I just don't think we can stop them. Should be quite entertaining either way though. Chirp, chirp.

I think I found the best football stat ever.

Florida is 4-1 in weeks when the Gators — most of the time, just top-target Tebow — face blatant disrespect from teams or their fans.

Florida is 12-1 when Meph enjoys himself in front of a Tebow poster before the game starts.

See USC, there's your problem, Meph gets it up for every game.

I predict that whoever wins will win by at least 4 TDs. I don't know who will win though.

Speaking of stroking oneself, did we ever figure out who the outrageously hot blond they kept showing next to McCoy's parents was?

She was a 10.

I've heard she's a track athlete at Baylor.

And the losing team will still score at least 30.

Dew, we were having this discussion a couple of weeks ago. Cameron Newton has decided to transfer to a Texas JuCo. So that means John Brantley is the immediate future if Tebow bolts, and the future is him and Trey Burton, a 2010 commit. Right now the only scholarship QBs are John Brantley and Tim Tebow. The third string QB is punter Chas Henry. If catastrophe hits the fourth guy will be Percy Harvin.

Florida has one QB commit, Jordan Reed, though Reed despite being a very good recruiting prospect will probably never see the light of day as a Florida QB. He'll likely be in between Brantley and Burton. Chas Henry, a sophomore, will probably be the #3 QB all spring if Tebow returns. If Tebow's gone after Brantley I guess he and Reed. It'd be odd to see a punter recruit be the backup quarterback at a university with such QB productivity as Florida, the last two decades.

Why is this game on tonight. This is a crap game that should have been played before Jan. 2.

Both Dunbar and Roof (DC at Auburn) are out at Minnesota. Not a lot of consistency going on up there.

McCoy's girlfriend. And I saw that she is a track athlete at Baylor too. I wouldn't go so far to call her a 10, but an 8.5-9 would sound about right.
