I am watching the Hockey game more than the MSU game. It seems like MSU has to be upset that they have not scored more.

MSU has been in UGA territory most of the day, it seems.

Looks like the Bulldog offense may have woken up, though.

so iowa's probably among the 15 best teams in the nation right now.

didn't take greene long to announce he's going pro.

hopefully for you, losing your top RB doesn't lead to an Illinois-esque collapse next year

Hey manbearcub, remember mid-season when I said Shonn would be in the NFL next year and you lol'ed and said "he's good but not good enough to leave early"?

Ah-huh

Anyways awesome win. I really wish the theory that Cap One would take Ole Miss and Georgia would have gone to the Outback would have occurred. That would have been a really good game.

If Ferentz is ever going this would be it. He would come in with Pioli to a nice situation where they each would have 4 years most likely. Good QB and offensive talent in place. Man I hope he stays. Have no idea who we would target if he leaves.

I think we have more returning/in the pipeline than Illinois did but no one will replace Shonn.

8 starters returning on each side of the ball and more young talent than we've had in a long time. Bad news is the schedule will be really tough.

I don't even know who the RB for Illinois was this year. Penn State is in the same boat as you....good depth at skill positions. Our backup RB is as good as our starter.

I've always wondered why Ferentz is considered such a hot commodity in NFL coaching circles. Is it just an open secret that he's going to jump to the pros?

He's a good coach but he seems to be the first name brought up when college coaches are considered NFL candidates.

Because he coached in the NFL and was a well respected assistant before coming to Iowa and having success as a head coach. Most in the NFL also think he has the kind of demeanor/approach that would work in the NFL. They also see that he has a good eye for talent and has won without blue chip recruits.

I think he'll be coming back, but this is the situation that would tempt him.

Ferentz has been named since the Orange Bowl year as a potential head coach. I'm kind of nervouse about the way he was shaking hands with the players after this game (I know it was the seniors but his demeanor seemed different. I'm probably reading too much into it though).

The beginning of the end for the Nittany Lambs. Bring on the Oklahoma/Florida winner.

1 - 6 (after OSU loses to Texas) = another great bowl season by the most over rated football conference in the country.

PAC 10 is 5 - 0 in bowls. USC was robbed out of a championship game birth.

Voice of Reason, I dont think you would find too many Big Ten fans who would say that we were one of the better conferences this season. So I dont know if its reasonable to say that the Big Ten is over-rated. Though I think beyond the top team the Pac 10 is not really better than the Big Ten.

You know how you would have not been robbed. Beating an Oregon St. team that managed to score 3 points against Pitt.

Another year, another no championship for you. Soooooooooo sad.

Game. Set. Match.

Another beatdown of a Big 10 team in a BCS game.

Well, then. USC is drubbing Penn State and I was wrong here.

I still don't think it's because they're a Big 10 team. It has more to do with USC is awesome when they decide to play.

Oregon State is a good, consistent program though. And they beat Pitt without the Rodgers brothers (Quizz Rodgers was Pac 10 player of the year). I don't see what's such an embarrassment about losing to them.
