Man I wish the Williams 'brothers' would get their suspensions already. That would change everything IMO.

I was listening to Hub yesterday and he said the time between their appeal hearing and the NFL's decision has been unusually long.

Hub Arkush is a buffoon. Their hearing was last Thursday. Every NFL "insider" was saying going into it that no one would be suspended before Week 14 because it's a unique case. I mean every Glazer, Mortenson, Clayton, King was saying this last week. It shouldn't be a surprise. Hub is just an idiot.

Did he ask why the 3 players from the Saints haven't been suspended yet? Their appeal hearing was before the Williams'.

It sounds like there's a decent chance they may all be let off the hook because there were some major discrepancies. The hearing lasted 12 hours and they had multiple doctors and trainers testify. The banned substance wasn't included as an ingredients and wasn't on the hotline that players are supposed to consult with.

How is he a buffoon for saying it has been unusually long? It has been long. It's been far too long.

Hub is a buffoon though...ya gotta give him that...even if it's not for this particular instance.

Hey may be a bit of a 'buffoon', but I generally enjoy listening to him talk. One thing I like about him is he stays true to his opinions for the most part. He doesn't go from hot team to hot team every week as his favorites. It's been so annoying to see everyone go from saying the Packers are the clear favorites to win the NFC North because of a blowout win against the Bears (seriously, one game? The Bears were outplayed but 'Any Given Sunday' mentality please), but now they got demolished by a NO team that clearly matched up well against them, and everyone is picking the Vikings or Bears.

I kinda got off topic there, but its so annoying to see this happen, especially in such a fickle sport like football. Stick to your guns. Use actual football analysis and don't just judge a team by their last 1-2 games.

When I go to pick up my sister from college I can get 670 on the way there. Did anyone else hear the temper tantrum one of the talking heads went on after they had Tommie Harris on and he gave some stock answers while at a charity gig? It was hilarious to hear and pathetic on the host's part.

I just think he's a buffoon in general. In this case I just don't understand the surprise. Every "insider" said this is exactly what would happen. The appeals would be last week and if there were suspensions handed out they wouldn't be until after Week 13.

The case is unique because the actual manufacturer said they were unaware bumentanide was in the Star Caps. They weren't listed. They weren't flagged by the hotline. There are 5 players from 2 teams involved. For all of these reasons it shouldn't be a surprise that it hasn't followed standard timetables.

My bigger problem was all of the lag time they had between stuff being leaked and when they actual held the appeals. But the time between the hearing and a ruling is understandable.

I think he's more strange and creapy than buffoonish.

He is more clear and level headed about his analysis of the Bears than any other person I listened to. I love listening to him take ridiculous calls from people, you can hear the pure frustration and annoyance in his voice.

Didn't hear it. But -- 670 has many people on who are quite capable of an out-of-whack tantrum.

No they haven't. They may act like they knew exactly what would happen after the fact, but every single one of the ones I've heard talk about this has sounded extremely confused why this is taking so long. It's an odd story that should not be dragging on this long.

I just found about a dozen predictions from websites across the web, and every single one of them calls the game a tossup with a slight edge to the Vikings. All of the picks were for the Vikings by anywhere from 1-13 points.

When the appeals were set for last week, everything I read said that no suspensions would be handed down before the Jaguars (last week) or Bears games.

I think the problem is nobody knows what to think of the Bears. And even though they are just 6-5, they aren't really inconsistent overall. The run D has been good. The pass D has been exploited. The offense is run first and often. When that hasn't worked, they have shown they can throw the ball enough to win that way. They've had a legitimate chance to win every game. The Green Bay game is the only exception to all of these, other than the TENN game where Grossman was throwing the ball. The problem is that the Bears bad game is fresh in people's minds. Maybe the safe guess is the Bears will win because the team they are playing isn't in the South.

Dan Berstein ripped Lawrence a new one in response.

The Trib is saying Vasher is likely out the rest of the year.

Yeah, he's done for the regular season at least. Broken arm. No point in bringing him back for the playoffs if necessary. Get someone else in the roster spot, IR him.

Hub Arkish is much much better than when he was employed by the Bears and still doing Sports talk radio. I enjoy him being objective, something he wasn't before. With Jauron, not everyone who disliked him blamed 100% of the Bears' woes on him and Arkish failed to differentiate the two.

How big is this game?

Using SportsClubStats, which calculates playoff odds for all the sports says that if the Bears win today, their odds of making the playoffs are right around 70%. If they lose, those odds plummet to 19%
