Good for the Dodgers.

They showed up to play and took advantage of the opportunities given to them. You gotta earn it at each level, and they earned this one.

It would have been nice had the Cubs put up any kind of legit effort though.

But they didn't. And this is what happened. It is what it is.

The Cubs are getting into the playoffs much more often now than in their last 60 years. It gives them a better chance to go all the way, but it also drastically increases the odds of things like this happening. I'll take that so long as they keep putting a competitive team out there. Eventually, you'll punch through.

Amen.

aahhh...the eternal optimistic cub fan mantra....gotta get my fix.....

One day they'll win it and it will be that much sweeter.

Liar.

They'll never win it.

I've wasted 30 years. this loss is much more bitter than all the rest.

It is more bitter. Why is that? I am not down about it, like I was last year, this year I am PISSED.

Its more bitter because the Sox and tard fans will be rubbing the'100 years' thing in our faces forever now.

IMO 2003 was the worst because they were one game away from going to the WS. At least the last two years they showed their true colors early and lost the first 3 to spare us the drama.

Exactly 84 and 03 were disappointing. These last two years have been inexcusable.

Soriano and Ramirez this is on you. They make more money in a year that all of us combined. Contract the team and burn Wrigley to the ground. I can't do this anymore.

Sorry. I seriously feel awful for all of you, and I really didn't care who won this series.

Keep your heads up, they'll be back. One day they'll win it and it will be that much sweeter.

I'm only 20 and I realize we're never winning a World Series.

The cubs have won 2

You definitely have a lot more faith in this franchise than I do. Although obviously not a perfect team, how much better of a team/season can a team have and still completely fall flat on their collective faces?

We'll win some year as a completely undeserving Wild Card and I will weep like a baby.

Manny vs. Red Sox in the WS. Book it.

As long as the Brewers and White Sox stay out. I'm on the ledge as it is.

I wouldn't be so certain about that, in the Phillies the Dodgers won't be playing a team tighter than a snare drum. How many hanging sliders did the Cubs miss or take tonight? From Broxton alone I counted 5.

Who knows? A team less good than this one could win it all. That's the nature of baseball. There's no set model to win the WS.

Seriously, that's what it's gonna have to be. Have a mediocre seasons, sneak in the last week, go in as the total underdog and take it all.

I can't wait to read DeRosa's blog to see how sad he is the Cubs didn't do well again this year. Next year, if he is with the Cubs, he needs to not talk so much and worry about playing. There comes a point when we don't care to hear excuses. The last two games he was terrible. Tonight there is no excuse for not bringing in the runner on third with one out, and then watching pitch after pitch go straight across the plate, and then swinging at the ball in the dirt.

Only fitting that the season ends on a Soriano strikeout. He's dead to me as far as i'm concerned. To see him sitting all by himself with his head down on the bench said it all to me. Imagine how bad he will be when he's 38 and ripping this team off.

He took a hanging slider on the first pitch from Broxton and fouled another one off.

My guess is that DeRo has proactively written that blog entry

At least those teams were trying to win. I honestly feel robbed by this team. They played emotionless, uninspired, lethargic baseball. You're right, this was inexcusable.
