I was asked to start this game, so here I is.

I wish I had lots of funny pictures, etc, but I just don't have the time. If I had the time, I don't know if I'd have the effort.

The Cubs send out their ace --- Rich Harden. The Dodgers send some guy I've never heard of.

There is no doubt in my cub loving heart and mind that the Cubs will win this game. Go get 'em, Rich. Make us proud.

Let's bring this series back to Wrigley!!!!!!

*edit: what the heck happened to the cuss word filter??

I'll be recording this one on the offhand chance that the Cubs actually win but I won't be able to watch it live (definitely a good thing) since I'll be at the UCD football game on Saturday.

sadly, in hoping the opposite would happen i predicted the cubs to lose these last 2 games. It helped in a sense that i don't feel as dissapointed, but, this game it's going to be different!.. I know we will win this game! Kuroda, he may have allowed only 1 run to us in 15.2 innings this year, but i will go out of my way and say we will end his night early and win the game along with the next game to bring this series back to wrigley! I know we will! i am positive! (i hate being optimistic but thats all i have right now) LETS GO CUBS! GET US A WIN! ONE GAME AT A TIME!

I've tried the optimistic thing, now I am doing the pessimistic thing.

In the words of the Cleveland Indians groundscrew in "Major League": "This team is Howry."

Oh and Dempster.....you're preseason prediction of the Cubs winning the world series, is going to fall just a little short.

I propose we don't have a game thread for Game 3. Let's bring some good karma by changing things up.

We could also change things up by no one posting on this board 'til the game on saturday but lol that's really impossible for any of us. But, i like your idea of changing things up. Come on people let's get the suggestions rolling in..

Lets go!! This is it. All year long we have been the best. Every comeback, every clutch pitching and batting performance comes to this. This is our moment. There is no tomorrow. There is no "tip your cap." We have an incredible opportunity in front of us gentlemen. Most everyone doesn't believe in us. We are cursed, we will never win it is what they will say. Well I say that we punch them in the mouth. I say that we show them that math doesn't mean a damn thing when it comes to sports. Who cares that only one team has come back from being down 2 games in a NLCS. We come out, we hit the damn ball with authority, we pitch our game, we field every ball that is hit towards us to a never before seen perfection in Chicago. It's a dog fight now men, we either win, or we listen to the media tell us for 5 months that we are gutless choking dogs. Now, do I eat out of a dog bowl? Do you? No, We are professionals. We are paid to play the greatest game known to man. We are paid, to bring a championship to Chicago. Now, I don't give a rats *$& about curses. I dont care about billy goats. I dont care about botched double plays and guys interfering with foul balls. I dont care about he ghosts of this team. What I do care about is shutting everyone up, I care about showing the world why we were the best team in baseball all year. Thankfully this isn't a two game series or we would be done for the year. We have one more loss to play with and there are millions of people that are hanging on what could be our last loss. This isn't just about us gentlemen. This is about the greatest baseball organization in America. This is about one last chance for people to believe, for fans that have given their all to this team, for us, as players, to be rewarded for the years we have bled, cried, and sweated through heartbreaks. It is our determination, and only ours that will bring sweet victory ringing through the streets of Chicago. Tommy Lasorda once said that, "The difference between the impossible and the possible lies in a man's determination." We have to be determined to fight for our lives. We have to be determined to do a round house kick to their face if they push us first. This is our time men, it is our time to take the fight to them. Gentlemen, this obstacle was made for us. It is our time to throw punches. God Speed Chicago Cubs.....make us proud. Edited by Three and a Beer

Yeah, mostly I'm just tired of reading the plentiful negative posts during these last two games. I think it would benefit us all if we just took some time off during the game and not post.

You're right, the Cubs do need to clean up their act.

I don't know what to say, really. The biggest battle of our professional lives. Either, we heal, as a team, or we're gonna crumble. Inch by inch, play by play, til we're finished. We're in hell right now, gentlemen. Believe me. And, we can stay here, get the [expletive] kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back, into the light. We can climb out of hell. One inch at a time. Now I can't do it for you. You find out, life's this game of inches. So is baseball. Because in either game, life or baseball, the margin for error is so small. I mean, one half a step too late, or too early, you don't quite make it. One half second too slow, too fast, you don't quite catch it. The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break of the game, every minute, every second. On this team, we fight for that inch. On this team, we tear ourselves, and everyone around us to PIECES for that inch. We CLAW with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know, when we add up all of those inches, that's gonna make the [expletive] difference between winning and losing. Between LIVING and DYING. I'll tell you this, in any fight, it's the guy who's willing to die, who wins that inch. And I know if I'm gonna have any life anymore, it's because I'm still willing to FIGHT and DIE for that inch. Because that's what living is! There's six inches in front of your face. Now I can't make you do it. You gotta look at the guy next to you, look into his eyes. Now I think you're gonna see a guy who will go that inch with you. You're gonna see a guy, who will sacrifice himself for this team. Because he knows, when it comes down to it, you're gonna do the same for him. That's a team, gentlemen. And, either we heal NOW, as a TEAM, or we will die, as individuals. That's baseball, guys. That's all it is. Now, what are you gonna do?

We CAN do this.

Go Cubs.
