I've wasted 30 years. this loss is much more bitter than all the rest.

 

IMO 2003 was the worst because they were one game away from going to the WS. At least the last two years they showed their true colors early and lost the first 3 to spare us the drama.

 

Exactly 84 and 03 were disappointing. These last two years have been inexcusable.

 

At least those teams were trying to win. I honestly feel robbed by this team. They played emotionless, uninspired, lethargic baseball. You're right, this was inexcusable.

 

Just the opposite, they tried too hard, when your trying to hit a 600 ft HR you miss hanging sliders like Ramirez did all night.

Seriously, that's what it's gonna have to be. Have a mediocre seasons, sneak in the last week, go in as the total underdog and take it all.

I wasn't bothered at all by our 1998 playoff appearance until that stupid cards team. I mean, I didn't think it was possible to be that bad and win the world series. It's like they were just trying to rub it in by winning.

I'm not sure what the Cubs can do. Its not like they are that young. Derek Lee is getting old and not performing like he used to. Aramis Ramirez for 2 straight years have not hit 30 HR's. Soriano, I used to like him and give him the benefit for the doubt. 32, getting older and not anymore. Fukudome is horrible! Theroit is not any everyday SS. Weak slap hitter. I like DeRosa but he is going to be 34 as well, can he have the same year he did this year?

 

This was the year and they flippin sucked.

 

I used to be the most optimistic Cub fan. Never letting a few loses get to me because I always felt the Cubs would be there in the end. Not anymore, I am going to go into next season with zero expectations and really going to expect them to lose.

 

I'm going to support the Bears this season but since I love the Cubs and baseball so much this really really hurts. I really don't see them winning anything anytime soon.

A sweep is not heart breaking, it is just disgusting. I only really felt bad after Game 1.....after that, taking the next 2 losses was easy. Not enjoyable but I kind of reserved myself to reality a bit.
