Heartless. Seriously, wtf is going on that the Cubs decided to not show up for the playoffs? I hope they come back this game, but they have already blown chance after chance.

Has anyone considered the irony that after they switched the Cubs back to TBS they continued on with the end of the Titanic on TNT? Foretelling?

Well, there were some people predicting that it would lead to newspaper article themes tomorrow

Would've been more so if they had done that for Game 1. By the time this game rolled around we had plenty of warning this would happen whereas Titanic came out of nowhere.

I'm so glad I haven't invested any emotion into this game. Actually spent the day enjoying life pretty much knowing what to expect. It felt good.

That's how I feel about the entire playoffs. Almost, I didn't quite manage to remove all emotional investment, but I came pretty close and I'm just a little annoyed instead of outright depressed.

I didn't have a lot invested going into Game 1 knowing there was a second at home, but Game 2 just finished killed my emotional investment into this crapfest. I figured I'd enjoy the day and tomorrow I'm going fishing with my best friend so it'll be a pretty good weekend even with the season almost assuredly ending tonight.

I know all the heartless Sox fans are gonna rub it in come monday morning at work

Uh, depending on what happens tomorrow, I'd say probably not.

so harden's basically a $12 million - 5 inning pitcher?

Rich Harden is not to blame for this fiasco. That would've been his 1st run given up of the game if the rules could be called correctly on the field, for one thing.

didnt say he was to blame just said salary is high for a 5 inning guy

He's not a 5 inning guy

For the Cubs, he's pitched 5.1, 7, 5, 7, 5.2, 5, 7, 7, 5, 6, 5, 6, 4.2. That's, what, like an average of 5.2 a game? Not much more than a 5-inning pitcher.

IDK how the Cubs organization will face the media after tonight. I mean my god, the Cubs are like the playoff versions of the New York Mets, teams that can't handle expectations.

should we empty the bench and hope for a rally? ward, cedeno, fukudome? worked for the bulls against portland!

Has anyone considered the irony that after they switched the Cubs back to TBS they continued on with the end of the Titanic on TNT? Foretelling?

Would've been more so if they had done that for Game 1. By the time this game rolled around we had plenty of warning this would happen whereas Titanic came out of nowhere.

"Captain, we've run these channels five times in the last 25 years, and five times we've ran into an iceberg and had a horrific tragedy. Should we be nervous it might happen a sixth?"

Jim Hollywood Edmonds will come through this game, I macro made my own half shirt Cubs jersey to get us back in this game.

The 2008 Cubs have nothing to do with any other Cubs team (except to some extent 2007). I'm kinda tired of hearing anything to the contrary.

I'm really tired of the Cubs getting compared to teams that have been to the World Series in the last decade or so.

Yeah, but most of the ones doing the rubbing in are the ones who wouldn't realize that anyways, as they haven't been watching the Sox.

Yes, indeed captain, an iceberg named Dodgers.....
