Well, apparently I have to leave early as they lock up this building at 10.

It's been swell. This may be the last moments of a Cubs game that I'll ever watch.

Screw the Cubs. Seriously.

At the Cubs convention, do you think people will cheer or boo?

Eh, that's an overreaction.

Boo. This is going to get really, really ugly with the fans really, really soon. When the choke jobs start coming in rapid succession instead of every 20 years, it's not quite so lovable.

so harden's basically a $12 million - 5 inning pitcher?

Rich Harden is not to blame for this fiasco. That would've been his 1st run given up of the game if the rules could be called correctly on the field, for one thing.

didnt say he was to blame just said salary is high for a 5 inning guy

I'm so glad I haven't invested any emotion into this game. Actually spent the day enjoying life pretty much knowing what to expect. It felt good.

That's how I feel about the entire playoffs. Almost, I didn't quite manage to remove all emotional investment, but I came pretty close and I'm just a little annoyed instead of outright depressed.

What an absolutely gutless performance.

Great (regular) season. I'll take away a lot of great memories.

But now we know what these guys are really made of, and it gives me no hope for the next several years while they are under contract.

And when that play happened, two runs were awarded to the Dodgers and the Cubs had no chance whatsoever to recover.

Yeah. I went into this excited but apprehensive until they could show me that this team could win at least a game in the postseason. Getting swept is ironically easier for to deal with since I looked at this so guardedly.

Is "guardedly" even a word?

Has anyone considered the irony that after they switched the Cubs back to TBS they continued on with the end of the Titanic on TNT? Foretelling?

I'm fairly certain it is.

The downside of this approach is that I wouldn't be quite as euphoric if they did win it all. But since that will never, ever happen, I'm okay with that trade-off.
