Heck, the Titanic was like 2/3rds of the way across the Atlantic before it crashed, right?

These Cubs are some freaky steampunk version of the Titanic that can't get out of the harbor without exploding.

2003 was the titanic

the cubs now are shadowing the flying dutchman

large pic of cat howry

Speaking of howry, that is one bonus to this series... he hasn't been able to blow it for us in the playoffs. Chew on that positive for a while!

I'm going fishing at 4 AM and need to buy a new fishing rod, but I feel like I need to finish watching this train wreck.

calling this a train wreck is a freakin compliment

Has anyone considered the irony that after they switched the Cubs back to TBS they continued on with the end of the Titanic on TNT? Foretelling?

Would've been more so if they had done that for Game 1. By the time this game rolled around we had plenty of warning this would happen whereas Titanic came out of nowhere.

"Captain, we've run these channels five times in the last 25 years, and five times we've ran into an iceberg and had a horrific tragedy. Should we be nervous it might happen a sixth?"

The 2008 Cubs have nothing to do with any other Cubs team (except to some extent 2007). I'm kinda tired of hearing anything to the contrary.

Keep predicting that, keep being wrong.

Keep guaranteeing they'll win games, keep being wrong.

Does it get old being wrong so often?

How the heck would you know that I often predict things? I don't. I made that prediction because I had a feeling. I was clearly wrong. I really don't give a crap about being right or wrong, I want to see the Cubs win. And it's not happening. But that doesn't mean I'm buying into some damn curse that doesn't exist.

i am ready to go to the nearest bar and just fight somebody

I actually left the nearest bar because I was going to fight someone

There's a biker bar a scant 1/2 block from my house, and they're doing the usual late night engine revving right now.

I have nothing to live for, so why not?

why blame the cubs franchise? was it their fault that sianis wasn't let in? was it their fault that i purchased anew cubs hat after game 4 of the 2003 nlcs, which apparently intensified the curse---now, we can't even win a playoff game. 9 straight losses and counting since buying the hat.

I swear to Howry if I hear anyone talking about curses tonight I will punch them in the mouth.

We lose because we are PLAYING WORSE THAN THE OTHER TEAM.

Yeah, no curses here.

In other news, the fiance picked a good time to pick a fight with me over something stupid. Just stupid.

And so reads the tombstone of the 2008 season, "THEY PLAYED WORSE THAN THE OTHER TEAM...."

This isn't even the goat curse. This is way worse than the goat curse.

The goat curse is not making to the world series. It said nothing about getting the ever-loving crap beat out of you every single playoff game.
